Im of the opinion that the culture of Michigan had a segment that doomed him to fail. They had someone turn them in for extra workouts. I mean come on. He turned around WVU and is doing the same thing at UA

i dunno if i'd hold the michigan debacle against him.

he seems to be doing fine at a place where nobody really bothers him like they did at michigan.

TAF ain't gonna do shite. Barring some kind of subversive campaign, Miles can't be forced out anytime within the next several years. If he leaves, it'll be of his own accord.

Not my point.

My point was that LSU AD's answer to TAF now.

However, you are correct. Miles is here for as long as he wants to be.

Jury is out. Not convinced yet.

Mississippi State - Dan Mullen

In 5 years his conference record going into this year was 16-24. Never finished higher than 4th in the west. He would not have lasted 5 years here with our idiot fan base.

Alabama - Nick Saban

Ya Bama was genius for taking a chance on this stiff.

Kentucky - Mark Stoops

You basing this on his 2-10 (0-8) record last year or a 7 point win against a crappy USCe team?

We got one. First thanks Beard for having the chest to put down on paper your replacements for Miles. Most of these ****s just bitch to bitch, they have no plan or the courage to actually make a decision. The last time we had someone actually do this was like 5-6 yrs ago.
It went something like Petrino, Kelly, Carroll, Chizik, Muschamp. Even the great Derek Dooley along with Lane kiffen was in the "without even thinking" cluster of coaches that could easily do better than dumbass Miles.

Sumlin - Jury is still out. Dumbass Miles is 2-0 against Sumlin and his Heisman QB.

Auburn - Gus M. - agreed. Worked out well. I hope in 2015 Miles turns around the team similar to what GM did at AU.

Ole Miss - Hugh Freeze - Good hire so far, can't argue there.

Miss St - Dan Mullen - Yeah, our idiot fan base would wait six years for a solid SEC win.

Alabama - Nick Saban - Yeah, what a reach there. LOLOLOL

Kentucky - Mark Stoops - Hmmmm. They may beat us this year, so that automatically proves Mark Stoops is better than Miles.

FSU - Jimbo Fisher - Like Bama, I don't see that as a reach. Should Miles leave, this is who I hope LSU hires.

So three 3 win seasons and Les is here for the 4th?

I don't think so!

When do we foresee this happening?

2014 may end up being his worst season. We can all see this coming. 2015 will be an improvement.

Miles doesn't had a losing season, much less back to back losing seasons.

Auburn and the Landmass programs really seemed to hit it out of the park, though. What are the fricking odds of that.

Auburn: Malzahn looks good, but Miles won a MNC in his third year, so if he doesn't win it this year, he's behind Mile's trajectory. At least use the same criteria when evaluating these guys that you do Miles.

Miss St: This is Mullin's first exceptional year. He was semi-on the hot seat before this season, and he'll be back to middle of the pack when his senior laden team graduates.

Ole Miss: Again, very early in his tenure. Let's see if he can stay off probation and if Ole Miss can keep him when wealthier programs come calling.

It really is amazing to watch this.

Am I unhappy about this season? YES

Am I unhappy about the shitastic game plan Saturday? YES

Am I surprised Miles is handling it this way, especially after JLee and 2008, an EXACT carbon copy of a season in terms of rebuilding? NOPE

We knew going into 2014 that 2015 and 2016 were what we were playing for due to attrition. Let's see improvement and be happy with it.

Unreal.

He's well compensated, he's not exactly donating his time for the good of school. He's paid like an elite coach and results are far from it.
This is the unvarnished, unsentimental truth. It's a business arrangement between CLM and LSU at the core. For a while it seemed near-magical. But the magic is gone.

Hmmm.

I attended several games between 1988-1999 where MSU was dominating LSU not just in games, but as a program.

Where were our advantages then?

Didn't MSU play in an SECCG before LSU? I know they were going to better bowls in that time frame too.

Great! MSU beat us for the first time in 14 years, now it is time to FIRE LES MILES!!

Woot! Burn it down.

Because of two losses for a team that lost everything to the NFL this past year? Good God man.

The reality is that no matter what the outcome, Miles will be here next year. Someone with Miles' record and history with the school will not be terminated without first logging 2 horrendous seasons in a row. Some of you guys want to throw him out after 2 bad games.

But Nick Saban at Bama pays the top recruits to come to play there and he replaces his five stars that leave with new five stars and Nick Saban wins every game with the hardest schedule every year and plays for the national title every year while the schedule never favors him, the refs are against him and the media hates him.....

So because LSU had a bad stretch over 20 years ago, they don't have recruiting and media exposure advantages over a school like MSU?

quote:

Where were our advantages then?

They were there in recruiting. But HS football in South LA has certainly took off.

quote:

Didn't MSU play in an SECCG before LSU? I know they were going to better bowls in that time frame too.

How is this relevant to where each program has been at in, I don't know, the last 15 years?

quote:

Great! MSU beat us for the first time in 14 years, now it is time to FIRE LES MILES!!

Are you quoting me? I've never said this. But I have thought Les is a good recruiter and a flat-out bad football coach, and don't want to see LSU fall from grace due to him sticking around longer than he should. Ex: Texas with Mack

quote:

Woot! Burn it down.

I bet you thought you had me so good here.

And to add, I'm sick of everyone pointing to the 90s when taking up for Les. Get the frick over it. Every program has a point in time that they can point to and say "see how bad we were back then?" The fact is that right now LSU has had success, has a ton of media exposure, has won a lot of games, and has gotten far beyond the Dinardo era.

Les has a lot to do with that. Saban too.
