PJ - you do know that USC had about 5 games in doubt in the second half and 4th quarter right? Including a mediocre Stanford and UCLA. That also may have been the year that Cal had the ball 4th and goal with :30 left and dropped the pass in the endzone.

Not what you have. Probably:
1. LSU or Bama
2. Bama or LSU
3. Arky
4. OSU
5. Va Tech

does a team get computer credit for beating a team with the ranking at the time or at the end of the season?
IE: I beat the number 10 team one week, i get credit for that on my stregth of schedule even if that team drops 4 straight and is unranked by the end of the year.

All of the computers are based on final ranking. The lone exception is Billingsly which uses an average of the two

LSU isn't falling out of the Top3. Hell, LSU probably isn't falling out of the Top2 with a loss Friday. Nonetheless, they are definitely not falling out of the Top3.

It's not possible to lose and stay #1.

and also more dominant than the 2003 team.
Debateable. The SEC in 2003>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The SEC in 2011. FACT. Yes this LSU team is a great team. The best thing that ever happened to LSU football was when they lost to FLA in 2003. That team was DOMINANT BIG TIME after that. There was ZERO doubt they would lose again IMO. And I don't think THIS LSU team losses again.
Look at it like this. 2003 offense>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>2011 Offense.
2011 D> 2003 D. IMO.

If Arky were to beat LSU. And not fall out of the top 3.
1. Bama
2. Arky
3. LSU
Bama plays for the SECC. No games left for LSU and cannot jump Arky. LSU plays in Capital One Bowl?

So, then, under that premise, AU, UF, Moo State, and probably WVU will be unranked opponents for LSU?

What math did you use to come to this conclusion? LSU would certainly be above both in the computers. It is possible to be #3 in the human polls and still be #1 in the BCS

Computer polls may disagree with you.

LSUMATT,
If we were to beat Arky & Georgia and Bama lost to Auburn.....who would we likely play in the BCS?
Oh, and lets assume OSU lost to OU

Well there is nothing special (in general) about being top 25 in the computers. But no, the computers don't care that Miss State and UF were supposed to be good. WVU and AU are still ranked relatively high in the CPUs

All these scenarios are turning my stomach...just win out, baby and leave no doubt. I don't trust any of the BCS/B.S. info that is out there as it is all slanted to a writers agenda. What I def don't like is what ESPN-Edwards is saying about Alabama is in with win over Aub even w/o need of SEC Champ appearance? WTF? I know it is possible but should not LSU be granted the same 'pass' when they beat Arky? ridiculous...smh

No flame.
Just a college football fan wanting to have a serious discussion.

No disrespect intended towards lsumatt or anyone.
(As for my sig and team, lost a bet, long story. ABSOLUTELY NO intent of misleading)

WVU will probably be ranked, but yes this is mostly correct.

RollTide -
As the original post indicates, in all likelihood the human polls would be close enough to allow the computer to be the deciding factor.
As of now all signs point to Arky be a distant 3rd in the computers and this the BCS. This would send LSU to the SECCG.
I can't be 100% sure, but it looks like it for now.

Yeah, I guess thats right. It boils down to who their opponents w-l (2/3) and their opponents' opponents' w-l (1/3), so a number in front of any of those teams wouldn't matter since it factors in win loss..
