So it's Mainieri we need to blame for winning the SEC and having LSU as the #7 national seed? DAMN HIM!!!!

It's also his fault that we're 4th in SEC in team batting average, only 10 points ahead of Florida.

Rag, I'm as frustrated as everyone else regarding our hitting, or lack of hitting.

However, whenever I read a thread or post that makes it sound like we lost every game of the year, that is frustrating also.

I personally hope Javi is offered a head coaching job somewhere so he can leave for a good reason. I don't think Mainieri will ever fire him. They have too much history together for that to happen, IMO.

When your clean up hitter is a singles hitter .. What does that tell you about your lineup ?

Katz with 12 HRs

Katz still goes to Joe Brockoff to get hitting instruction obviously because he doesn't feel like he is getting good instruction at LSU

Shame on our offense .. It is horrible ..

we've had a couple of spots struggle for sure, but it's a bit overstated to say that it's horrible.

Personally, I love Javii, Russian .. He's a great, highly intelligent baseball guy ... But something just isn't clicking, bro ..

Do we ever choke up on the bat with two strikes?

I never see them choke up on the bat but Stony Brook does.

As far as moderate improvement, I'd say getting a base hit before the 5th would be something is like to see.

Ask Stony Brook's coach since that describes their 4 hole spot.

If we had average pitching, Stevo, we wouldn't even be talking about game 3 of a super, Stevo ..

It's interesting that you chose Katz and Rhymes, whom I think most would agree, are our best hitters. I'd simply argue that their hitting is probably more naturally developed than having been developed by this coaching staff and, specifically, Sanchez.

Naturally developed....what do scouts think about their natural ability? How about Nola's approach? The improvement from Ross?

I suspect that this is true for almost all teams in the Supers, don't you?

maybe so, and hopefully it picks up tomorrow. But to say our hitting is horrible is just flat out wrong, especially in a sport dominated by statistics.
