Should bunt the ball away from the shift every single at bat until the team re positions their players accordingly. If I was Beloso and especially with a Right handed pitcher who falls off the first base side, I would place the ball down the third base line every AB until they come off of that shift. I am not sure why this isn’t something that’s at least attempted. Make other teams pay for it.

OR

maybe just learn to hit the ball opposite way?

I’d like to see you bunt a 92-96 mph ball inside up the line with 2 tries.
baseball should get rid of the two strike bunt rule. Bunting is exciting for fans but harder than ever right now

You have to remember, these pitchers are pitching them on the very inside of the plate, forcing a pull into the shift. It is difficult to bunt in general. But especially difficult to bunt a very inside pitch to the opposite field.

That's why these teams keep shifting. I hate it. If a pitcher can paint the inside of the plate, very difficult to make that opposite field bunt.

I would run Skenes out in the first inning by bunting 115 foul balls. That's why a foul is strike 3.

No, you must be right. It has to be a simple concept and the 99% of the teams in D-1 ball who don't do this are the ones that are wrong.
I wasn't commenting on the strategy - just the ability to bunt the ball.

Again, it's not hard and a D-1 player at a top baseball school should be able to do it.

lmao. You make it sound like it's so easy to just bunt right down the 3rd base line to get on base. If you're that good at it you probably should be bunting every AB.

I'll take Beloso swinging away 99/100 times over him trying to lay down a bunt. Yeah maybe he'll hit into the shift, but he also might crank one 400 feet. We are a horrible bunting team. It aint broke, don't fix it.

I played college baseball back in the early 90’s and, because I had some speed, I would frequently bunt down the third base line, especially if the 3rd baseman was back. It’s not that difficult if you practice it.

#1, the guys who they play like that are pull hitters...it's all they do hence the shift.

#2, the pitches are all inside intentionally...even the breaking balls. They are very hard not to pull.

That’s what I’ve been trying to explain to these gym class heroes. Bunting( putting the ball in play) is not difficult. Trying to bunt down either line is difficult. If it’s so easy then why aren’t players/teams doing it?
