After seeing Tulane’s ability to strike out, I now want Skenes to pitch against them just for the LOLs

Tulane
that’s a lot of stats to be dead last in.

Committee and ESPN wants to see the #1 and #2 draft pick in Omaha!

If our fielding avg ranking holds up that would be only 1 team Jay has coached that finished below a 55 ranking and that's 2018 Arizona ar 52nd.

2017 Arizona: 156th (.968)
2017 LSU: 14th (.980)

2018 Arizona: 52nd (.975)
2018 LSU: 16th (.979)

2019 Arizona: 232nd (.962)
2019 LSU: 40th (.977)

2020 Arizona: 220th (.958)
2020 LSU: 31st (.979)

2021 Arizona: 159th (.967)
2021 LSU: 72nd (.973)

2022 LSU: horrible

2023 LSU: 63rd

Doesn't seem like he cares about fielding or defense at all.

“At all”? That’s a silly conclusion to draw. He obviously doesn’t prioritize defense over hitting, but he started Milazzo over Travinski most of the year. Does that sound like a guy who doesn’t care about defense “at all”?

Travinski not being in the lineup earlier is just a poor eval. Not because he cant defend

Well that’s not true as the vast improvement of defense from last year to this year proves otherwise. It’s been stated by several players how much defense has been a focal point all offseason. If anything he does care about it. Good try though.

THIS. It is painfully obvious that he places a bigger emphasis on offense over defense. Its very simple minded, to immediately assume this must mean he doesn't care about defense.

The most glaring example of this is Dugas as a middle infielder. The kid could spend 6 months doing nothing but training with the best infield coaches in the game and just not get any better. He is simply not physically gifted nor fluid at fielding a baseball as a D1 middle infielder. He is serviceable at best, and that was before the injury. On the flip side, he has had stretches where there isn't a middle infielder in the game who hits and gets on base as well as he does.

Florida is a much bigger favorite vs Florida A&M than LSU is against Tulane

No you can't. I get the sentiment, but those stats play a very important role in the game to game management, especially when you're playing a new opponent.
the stats down the stretch vs good teams and advanced stats not posted are the ones that really factor in such as individual situational stats ie lefty vs lefty.
