November
Tuesday 6 – SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA
Friday 9 – UNC GREENSBORO
Tuesday 13 – MEMPHIS
Friday 16 – LOUISIANA TECH
22, 23, 25 – AdvoCare Invitational (Orlando, Florida) (participants: Canisius, Charleston, Florida State, Memphis, Oklahoma State, Villanova, UAB)

December
Saturday 1 – GRAMBLING
Sunday 9 – INCARNATE WORD
Wednesday 12 – At Houston
Saturday 15 – Saint Mary’s (at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada)
Friday 21 – Furman
Friday 28 – ULM

Not a great home schedule (should win all of them), but the Advocare Invitational has some potentially good matchups and the game against Saint Mary's could be a good RPI boost. Should be only 2 or 3 losses at most.

That's pretty pathetic. Going to be hard to draw a decent crowd before conference play.

Extremely disappointed. At least this year we have a team I can enjoy going after Top 10 plays all game long. I've been there through worse.

This pisses me off. This was obviously one of the last spots to fill and instead of scheduling a road game to boost the SOS, they went the lazy way and scheduled a SWAC school. Scheduling teams with 250+ RPI kills your Strength of schedule.

Once they in to conference play it will get a significant boost. SEC is loaded this year.

Hoping we get some good draws in the Advocare tournament. Otherwise it’s a pretty weak slate. Not hating, just like to see a couple better home matchups. St. Mary’s in Vegas is nice.

meh, I'm not gonna bitch.

maybe we head into conference with a great record and some steam and carry the momentum and catch fire when it really counts circa AU 2017-2018

This was probably a last resort, as something fell through late in the process. I can assure you that this wasn't WW's first option, more than likely.

Good lord I just looked them up their rpi was around 350 last year. Why would we schedule that?

I wish I could agree with you, but this happens every year. Our administatrion is incredibly lazy when it comes to basketball scheduling.

not seeing what's so bad about this. memphis should have some hype this season with penny hardaway coaching, advocare invitational has some good teams clearly, Houston was very good last year, and Saint Mary's always finishes the season ranked in the top 20. Most teams don't play crazy good competition out of conference until they're a top program. If we win a lot of games this year, our schedule should be much more fun next season.

Also, with the SEC actually being a respectable conference now, out of conference schedule isn't going to make much of a difference.

Sure, wish we had at least 1 or 2 big to decent size schools at home...but I think we forget that the first 2 months could be rough with such a young team.

There are two ways of thinking:

1) Throw the young pups into the fire and get the competition going
OR
2) Let them build confidence and learn how to play together.

I don't know which way is correct, every team is different. The SEC is going to be very good this year. If you play 2 top 20 RPI teams in the Advocare, another 2 top 75 RPI teams in St Marys and Houston...it's not terrible. If they win all but 2 games, they could go into SEC with a decent/solid RPI and really really improve upon that.

Also, I'd like to note it really sucks we don't get to do the Big 12/SEC challenge...really really sucks
