Kermit Davis isn't a terrible idea. I think he would come back here. And I haven't seen any better/more realistic suggestions.

Kermit would absolutely come back and he'd do a great job. He's gotta be in the top 5 choices of realistic candidates. There are lots of mid major guys who would come bc they see the potential of the program and it wouldn't take a fortune. I think you look at those guys, probably someone a little younger gets first look, but Kermit needs to get a call without a doubt

Please god no Kermit Davis! We've done the john Brady thing already we don't need anyone from his coaching tree. Tennasee hired a john Brady disciple and he failed miserably. I'd take almost anybody els.

If you're going to try to go that route better to be more realistic. Kim Mulkey - Baylor.

Geno aint leaving Uconn especially for LSU

I think he would too, but I'd rather go young and new, energetic and fresh. There are about 4-5 realistic candidates that meet that criteria. I would ask all of them first but I don't think Kermit would be a bad fall back at all after that.

Shaq, the Pistol, and Bob Pettit have nothing to do with this.

Correct me if I am wrong....but in the last 31 years (since the Final Four team in 1986), LSU has been to exactly one Final Four and one Sweet 16...and Shaq wasn't even part of either of those. Success has been mediocre to minimal. The facilities here are ok, but not the greatest. The PMAC is a middle of the pack arena, at best, these days compared to the other big 5 conference schools. The fanbase is apathetic. Whoever takes over this mess has a lot of work on his hands. There is a little talent to work with on the current roster. ..but not an overwhelming amount. I am not sure there is enough local talent at the moment to make the program elite, so the next coach has got to convince kids from elsewhere to come here. And the salary won't be a top salary....so I just don't see LSU attracting anybody much beyond a strong mid-major coach to come here, and when you do that, it's like throwing shite at a wall and hoping it sticks.

For starters, premiere in state talent, an $11 million hoops training facility and besides Kentucky-a conference that's ripe for picking?

We got an elite coach a few years back, Trent Johnson, and that proved to be a disaster.

LSU is where coaching careers go to die.

Realistic and good hire there. We have to get an up and comer, not going to steal anyone's head coach.

Mike Rhoades at Rice is who LSU should target. Was the lead assistant in Shaka Smart and is turning Rice around.

Very very high energy guy who can recruit. He's also under the radar and attainable.

I'll take some of that action too. I'll give OP 100 to 1 odds Stevens goes anywhere but Boston!
