has been awful all year. We need to stop this stupidity. Men on 1st and 2nd with no outs. No reason to run right there.

I have a feeling that if it wasn't 7-3 in the 9th Hanover wouldn't have tried that. It was an issue all last season and didn't end up hurting us.

that wasn't a bad decision given the situation...

Dean trying earlier was a worse decision, it took a perfect throw to get Hanover

not negative..just want to see smart baseball played. Why is caring about LSU baseball considered negative?

Its infuriating to watch dumb decisions. I'm not sweating it, but if it keeps happening sooner or later its going to bite us in the arse.

putting pressure on the guy to make the throw after a bobble with a 4 run lead is smart baseball...

maybe you're over reacting a bit. we've been aggressive on the bases all night. we had multiple hit and runs in the first inning. you're going to get burned on occasion if you have an aggresive approach, it's just part of the game. dean and hanover got thrown out because they misread two balls, oh man we suck at base running ahhhh. like someone said hanover probably doesn't even try that if we aren't in complete control of the game, he just thought the guy dropped it.

Yes, it was. First of all, you don't make the 1st out at 3rd base, ever. Second, you really don't make the 1st out at 3rd base when your best hitter is coming up.

It was a mistake, he stopped after he rounded second and took off again to try to make 3rd. If you stop, just hold up and keep yourself in the game.

Dean and Hanover both made mistakes. They were trying to be aggressive though and I can live with that.

STFU. Mainieri explained the agressive base running for this game w/ the big park and blowing wind. How about we take a run off the board w/ Katz slide in a home forcing the guy to make the play. I like the base running all year. It works the majority of the time and shines in the post season w/ weaker non-conference opponenets. 2-time coach of the year says STFU.

You mean finally someone that agrees with you. We had two baserunning mistakes from being aggressive, I can live with that. Plus we had a 4 run lead, you can afford to be aggressive at that point.

yea, we need to stop complaining about baserunning

we are, and always have been super aggressive on the basepaths under PM...sometimes it works out, like tonite it got us going in the first, sometimes it doesnt

id say throughout the season it pays off more times than not

Mainieri's teams are ALWAYS aggressive on the bases. People love to count the "mistakes" or the number of times we run into outs, but they never mention the runs we score BECAUSE of the aggressiveness.

You're right about Dean's peg at second and wrong about Hanover's at third. Hanover was being aggressive, as we've been all night, and the Vandy left fielder needed to make a perfect throw to get him and did. You have to just tip your cap to the other team sometimes for making a play.
