Best news in the article IMO

Mainieri also said sophomore right-hander Ma’Khail Hilliard, who was shut down with shoulder tightness late last season, has been throwing for six weeks pain-free.

I said I would be worried if 2 of the 3, out of Hillard, Labas, Storz didn't return. Seems like Labas and Storz won't return, so I'm a little worried. Going to have to depend on some young arms.

We've had to rely on a freshman starter almost every year. We have a stacked group. Someone will emerge. Not to mention we have Hess and Walker ready to go.

I know. But imagine having Hess, Walker, Hillard, Labas, Stortz all fully healthy. Then add the super talented freshman bunch. Could have been a really special thing to watch. It will still be good, but I wanted to watch a totally dominant pitching staff from top to bottom.

We’re still going in dry if everyone but Storz is healthy

Marceaux still our best pitcher anyway and he’s only a freshman

Injuries are gonna happen. Is what it is. With that said - Landon Marceaux may be the best pitcher on staff day 1.

Labas has three months to get going again before the year even starts.

I wouldn't get too worried about not having Storz, LSU hasn't had him to begin with.

Oh Lord. Guess this will be the rantards player to rag on when he doesn't go 7 innings with 15 strike outs.

He hasn't pitched an inning of college baseball. I hope he is amazing, but to act like he is all of a sudden the best pitcher because he was good in high school is setting yourself up for disappointment.

I don't think he steps in as the best pitcher on the team automatically, but would have been a weekend starter if he had enrolled early last year, like he thought about doing.

After the last two seasons I want to be Greedy. I want a mass amount of good pitchers available. I want a dependable midweek guy, and a staff full of studs ready to step in every weekend. Pitcher A is having a rough start, no problem someone is fully capable of eating innings out of the pen.

I had my hopes up. I know it was a bunch of ifs, but I wanted everybody to be healthy and as good as advertised.

He’s a weekend starter regardless. Dude has command of three pitches

Mainieri said in mid-November if the season started back then Marceaux would be the Saturday starter.

Yeah, I think he and Hess are the locks for the weekend right now. Once Walker gets his feel/touch back, he would lock down Sundays.

If my previous post wasn't clear, I think Marceaux would have been a weekend starter last season had he enrolled last January.

Why dont the guy just hit and play first/DH? I get that he is a power right handed pitcher but its not "blow away" stuff from what I've seen.
