This may be a stupid question but I gotta ask...how do they calculate team ERA?

You can't just divide all of their ERA's by the number of pitchers. You have to add the team Earned Runs Allowed by the team Innings Pitched. Fury's rough 2.33 factor into the team ERA. By the way, kid was a great high school player, and I'm sure he'll be a good college player.

I was 99% sure I was doing it wrong. Thx for the explanation. Are you from the Choupique that's right outside of Thibodaux?

I didn't really see a whole lot. Although, most visitors get tickets down the left field line, and I sat behind the right field fence tonight. I'm pretty sure that ULL brought more fans than Tulane had tonight.

ULL fans live every waking moment for an opportunity to beat LSU at anything. They would pack a girls Soccer game if it was against LSU.

That's what I was thinking too - ERA is scaled to 9 innings.

No shite. ERA is earned runs per 9 innings.

Actually, ERA = (earned runs/innings pitched) X 9

How many earned runs do you give up per inning, then multiply by 9 for the 9 innings of the baseball game.

Either way works and gives you the correct answer. The point is you can't just divide earned runs by innings pitched.
