Hitters will be geared up facing low to mid 90’s Friday and Saturday will be a good change.
Walker isn't pitching Saturday.

Thanks again Scuba! I got out there at 2:00 yesterday (scheduled start time for scrimmage) and everyone was going home.
Also, if you're interested: Southern vs. Air Force at 2:00 PM on Monday at the Box.

I haven't seen the schedule for the other games for the weekend. I would like to check them out as well. Army plays Air Force at noon on Friday. Air Force plays ULM at 5 PM on Saturday. Army plays ULM AT 11 AM on Sunday

It wasn't worded exceptionally well but he's saying after mid 90s Fri and Sat it will be a good change. I'm not too worried about walker's pitch speed at this point, he never really threw heat and that's not what made him effective.
I'm also pretty optimistic about the bullpen. Guys tend to get better each year, we were pretty young last year. We've got a lot of new youth this year, but most of it is well regarded. Being that we should actually have some true starters this year and some bats to back them up I think we'll be in good shape. I really like having hilliard in the pen. Dude is really talented and I think he's the bullpen arm we really missed the most last year. Now obviously we needed him to start and he was great there, but if he stays healthy and our starters pan out like we hope he's going to help us win a lot of games being able to throw some effective long relief. It would be great if Gilbert could return to his form from a couple years ago. Last year was rough. Don't know if it was his injury or just trying to force himself to be a starter.
Sucks that Labas is out, he seemed like he was going to be another great arm for us after getting his feet wet last year. That could have given us about 6 legit starter candidates which would be insane.

I don't see Leon Landry listed as a coach on Southern's website. I thought he got a job with them for this season.
I think Kerrick Jackson can build their program back to where Cador had it in its heyday. Perennial SWAC champion/NCAA tournament participant. But it's going to take him some time. Jackson was an assistant at Mizzou under Tim Jamieson (who played at UNO with Mainieri), and was also a scout and an agent. So he's got connections all over the country for recruiting.

I hope Coach Jackson is successful in building Southern's program back up. He'll need the drive and energy that Coach Cador had to put them on top of the SWAC and keep them there. It would be nice to have two college teams in BR to pull for.

I felt like i paid attention to alot of walkers pitch speeds two years ago and he was sitting mostly 87-89, so he isnt too far off. 90-91 was about as hard as it got
