In the past when they do the coach's committee only scrimmages, do they do anything differently on the field? Are the lineups more of an indicator of what's to come?

CC meeting scrimmages are the same as others, members have a buffet in the Champions Club prior to the scrimmage starting.
The line ups for the scrimmages usually have the projected starters on one team with remainder of the position players on the other, with a few exceptions. There is often players switching teams mid game due to shortages of players to field complete teams.
Pitchers are used depending on what the coaches desire regardless of team. They are scheduled to pitch ahead of the weekend scrimmage schedule I’m pretty sure. I don’t think that varies regardless of the score of the game.

Thanks for what you do for the board Scuba!

Does anyone know what the setup will be for the Halloween Game in Biloxi? Regular 9 inning or something else?

I do know that scheduling two separate days will cost fans twice as much for tickets as last year’s games as well as the expense of making the trip twice instead of once.
Last year there were two separate sessions of at least 9 innings each. I haven’t been able to find out what this year’s format is, as yet.

This is consistent with what I’ve seen - especially about pitching. Pitchers work based on a pre-set schedule and number of innings. If a guy runs up his pitch count in an inning, Jay will just stop the inning.

“Runs” are awarded and withdrawn based on performance objectives, such as 2 of first 3 pitches for strikes, moving base runners along, etc. Also some situational stuff, like starting an inning with a runner on 2nd.
