I like the pitching staff
The hitting was impressive against Nicholls but again that's not SEC pitching
You will get Garza back who was the hottest hitter down the stretch last year.
The middle of the lineup will be solid with Beloso, Cabrera and Garza
Now you fill in around those guys and the key will be guys like Bianco, Dugas and Willis raising their level of play, I think that will determine how good this offense will be.
Might as well get used to Hughes because he will likely play SS and you take whatever offense you can get unless Arnold can make it a race come spring

Mathis seems to be a hitting machine. If Milazzo can swing a bat well (he kind of looks like he can) then he will be great to have. Travinski looked rocky at times playing catcher, but good with the bat. I think there is going to be plenty of offense to go around on this team.

Potentially the best staff in college baseball. I said this last year though, and it didn't turn out that way. So, I'll hold my breath.

Can't wait for Scubas stats, but I bet Hughes is hitting around .250 for the fall. That would be plenty good enough.

Kendall Burnett is no longer listed on the roster. We are now at 35/35.

What about the lefty that threw Sunday? He wasn't ever listed on any roster. Wonder if he has a legit shot.

I'm guessing he's on speed dial if anyone leaves at semester break or anyone needs to have surgery. It seemed like both walk on LHPs were out performing Burnett, so this isn't all that surprising to me.
I don't see anyone getting pushed off the roster to make room for the walk-on, but if anyone does leave he's probably going to fill that roster spot.

Writing was on wall with Burnett, he threw in low 80's and really struggled in scrimmages
That's not good enough to get outs in midweek games
Lag saw time so he likely still has a shot as a walk on lefty and PM spoke highly of him on the scrimmage telecast interview with Ronnie Rantz
Wonder what is up with Gunter and Abendroth, neither have pitched this fall and PM has never said anything about them. That could be an open spot or with glut of OF's on the roster and with Bianco and Dugas playing OF now too, maybe someone like Gio or a fr OF leaves. Gio was not happy about his playing time at the Cape and if he doesn't start he might look at better options

Gunter is getting rest this fall, he’ll be a key midweek guy next year.
Abendroth I have no clue.

Hilliard throwing 91 stands out.
I was thinking the same thing. 91 will make the off speed look even better. Great to see.

Ole Miss is going to be too reliant on freshmen and JC transfers to be consistent enough to finish that high. They turned over more than half of their roster.
ETA: and did Arkansas fold their team?

Zach Arnold is sill wearing a soft cast on his right hand. He was in the first base dugout last night.
Mike Lagarrique was dressed out wearing #57 last night The other lefty walk on (Blosser) on is back with his club team in Texas.
Collier Cranford is not throwing yet.
Jaden Hill threw a really good bullpen recently and could throw Friday night.
Eric Storz has also been long tossing recently.

Yes lets keep a player that you know can not go in the game unless we are up by 10 runs and had the lowest Batting Average on the team last year over filling that spot with a left handed pitcher.... makes sense

I haven't been able to keep up with the baseball squad this off-season.
To the guys that have followed them through the fall...If the season started tomorrow and we had a healthy roster, what would our starting line up look like?

Huh? Are you suggesting Hughes should be cut?

LMAO NO! Just another player on the team that never goes in until we are leading by 10... shouldnt we fill that with another pitcher instead of keeping that player?

Totally impossible for anybody to tell. So many positions are still up for grabs. I'll take a total guess...
Fri- Henry
Sat - Marceaux
Sun - Labas
C - Garza (but he hasn't played all fall)
1B - Beloso
2B - Doughty
3B - Mathis
SS - Hughes
LF - Willis
CF - Gio
RF - Cabrera
DH - Travinski/Willis/Bianco

Like who? You want to remove a player, who you don't think would play unless we are up 10, when we aren't sure who that player is, or if he even exist. And keep a pitcher who throws in the low 80s, who most certainly wouldn't pitch unless we were up by 10, solely because he throws a baseball left handed?
