The post is split into two. I have him under closer at the very end.
Ah I see thank you. Love the write up. Dylan Thompson is interesting to me. Profiles similar to Guidry with maybe less velocity. Just following scrimmage recaps, he surprisingly has a good K rate.

Surprised you think the pen is not as deep as last year. From my vantage point, it’s significantly deeper especially from the amount of inning eaters we have compared to last year.

12-13 of the 15 names haven't pitched in the SEC. There is immense talent (it's like a Marvel meet up) but every name I toss around we're basing discussion purely off of talent.
Talented guy like Jaden Noot? We're still talking of his high school ranking like it's going to help him get outs and that was 60 months ago.
What's going to help a ton is this freshmen class of Schmidt, Williams, Evans, and Rizy from a talent standpoint is as impressive of a pitching class that has come through in quite some time. They are going to force themselves in high leverage spots and take innings that we may not be counting upon them now.
The bullpen is going to be fine but there will be hit and misses from my preview as there always is.

Braswell will be hitting 8 or 9 IMO. Curiel will hit #2 IMO.

I always think it's funny how fans get so caught up in opening day lineups. I know it's just because we're all bored and waiting for the season to start so I decided to look up the last 2 seasons opening day vs final game of the season
2024 opening day:
Braswell SS
Brown RF
White 3B
Travinski DH
Pearson 2B
Jones 1B
Bingham LF
Kling CF
Milazzo C
Last game vs UNC:
White 3B
Milam 2B
Jones 1B
Pearson LF
Braswell SS
Neal C
Travinski DH
Brown CF
Larson RF
2023 opening day:
Kling RF
Jobert LF
Crews CF
White 3B
Morgan 1B
Jones DH
Neal C
Thompson SS
Nippolt 2B
Last game vs UF:
Beloso DH
Crews CF
White 3B
Morgan 1B
Dugas 2B
Jobert RF
Thompson SS
Pearson LF
Milazzo C
Aside from that championship core of Crews, White, Morgan, and Thompson guys moved around a lot.

Early SEC series, Friday night, up by a run in the 9th, who closes?
Really appreciate the annual previews. You, Scuba, Wild, et al make being a Tiger baseball fan even more fun. It's my favorite sporting interest. BTW, I think the last sentence in your Guidry preview needs a word or two.

I think you should look at the last game of the regular season. Jay does some weird shite in the postseason. Like leading off Beloso in Omaha. I’m not saying the changes won’t be drastic I’m just not sure it would be quite THAT drastic. But I haven’t checked my work on this.
ETA: last regular season game 2024
Braswell
White
Jones
Pearson
Travinski
Milam
Bingham
Larson
Milazzo

Rizy needs an * if he is in 2026 draft.
Milam didn't make you top 5 for 2026?

Guessing on the lineup is a fun puzzle but Jay will change it game to game depending on pitcher matchups and everything else.
It will be more important to see how many at bats players get. Of course hitting early in the lineup gets you more opportunities.
What will be interesting this year is seeing how many times Jay changes it mid-game. Does he change catchers when our starting pitcher comes out? He mentioned certain catchers catch certain pitchers better. Does he change DH and OF when the opposing teams starter comes out based on matchups? Are there going to be late game substitutions? Jay's going to go through a lot of notepads.

I wouldn't hate either of these Top 5 lineups...
Stanfield
Curiel
Jones
Milam
Dickinson

Braswell is hitting in the 8 or 9 hole for me

My lineup prediction. If Stanfield is leading off that pushes one of Dickinson or Curiel to the 6 hole in the second leadoff spot. Personally I think eventually Stanfield may be better suited lower in the lineup but I'm being nitpicky.
1.Stanfield R
2. Milam S
3. Jones R
4. Brown L
5. Dickinson R
6. Curiel L
7. Hernandez R
8. Larson L
9. Braswell R

Curiel has hit in the 2 hole every single scrimmage I have been to. Until I see him not in the 2 hole that is what I'm going to stick with.

No. Jones is your big homerun hitter so he bats cleanup (4th spot) because in the first inning if the first 3 people get on base then he can hit a grandslam and score 4 runs. They also call Jones "The Bear"

Bear has been hitting in the 3 hole primarily.
Who knows what Jay will do. I can never guess what he will do.

My take: On paper the bullpen is not as deep as it was a season ago
the bullpen last year, outside of Herring, was awful.
