He showed up to last years pre season banquet in a knee brace

I'm a little confused here?? If Gavin Guidry is a Freshman, how is he a draft-eligible sophomore. Maybe I'm reading something wrong??

If you turn 21 before the draft you don’t have to wait until you’re a junior

Maybe you should try actually paying attention

His knee was injured the whole season? Let’s agree to disagree, it’s irrelevant at this point. I’m not denying he came into the year a little banged up.

I don’t want to clutter this thread up so let’s drop it.

You specifically said no one knew about it. And his last 16 games were excellent defensively. So trying to act like you were paying attention by accusing him of sucking all the way till the end isn’t going to win you that argument.

I said we didn’t hear about it. Seems like it would be easy for Jay to say he was struggling with an injury to take some pressure off of him when he was sailing balls 10 feet over first half the year. Or just rest him for a couple weeks. All seem like better options than watching him slowly implode if there really was an injury. Like I said, agree to disagree. No one is going to be able to prove anything and I’m fine with the narrative if it takes the heat off him.

It’s not a narrative. What part of that don’t you get?

Sorry I don’t buy it. He could run the bases fine, hit game winning home runs, and run to ground balls. I don’t think a knee is going to make you boot balls and throw it 10 feet over first.

He had the fricking yips. Plenty of great players get the yips. Stop being so sensitive, I like Thompson and I think he bounces back.

Sensitive? Sheesh. It’s what it is. And I know it’s difficult for someone like you to understand.

Imagine a player with a torn meniscus. You’d think he wouldn’t be able to catch with it like that… all the squatting for 3 hours. But it didn’t hurt him at all during those games. Too much adrenaline and moving around. It wasn’t until he was moved to an outfield spot that his knee would pound while he was out there just standing and it affected every part of his game. It forced him to get surgery.

Point being that a knee injury similar to his isn’t going to necessarily affect everything. In fact, the easiest things are when you can just react and you don’t even feel it. The tough things are where you have to take your time and really set your feet… that sharp pain rears its head.

LSU starting shortstop Jordan Thompson said he is 100% healthy to begin the season. "Late in the fall, I started having a little bit of knee issues, so I got an MRI," Thompson said. "We initially thought I might have had a partial meniscus tear, but we got it scoped out and it wasn't anything like that. I just had a bunch of scar tissue and just had to get it removed." Everything is back to normal just in time for the season: he's running well and able to play a full nine innings of defense.

He got it scoped before the season, so no he didn’t have a torn meniscus. It’s ok, I told you it’s just my opinion.

I never said he had a torn meniscus. I said it was similar… so similar that it’s what they originally thought he had. Pay attention…

In fact, you should pay attention to the date of that article. Considering you told everyone here no one knew about the injury.
