You asked a question about something that you clearly disagreed with any answer that you would've gotten. That's cranky. Just say you don't think anybody deserves anything unless they earn it. That would be less cranky.
ETA: Nobody has gone out and clearly taken the Friday night start. Several have had their moments. Hellmers, Hilliard, and Lansville have been fairly consistent. Money had a great recent outing.

There’s a big difference in the 2 you used for an example. Also you said you thought McManus should DH if not catching. Why not Beloso? He’s put in his time, stayed and deserves it

Ok, I'll re-phrase: I believe Devin has put in the time and effort to throw the first pitch of the 2022 season.

And he may very well start the first game

I don't think you brought the word of friction between Fontenot and staff to the board, I think that was someone else.
But based on what you're saying, not saying, it doesn't seem like it's out of the realm of possibility that it's true.

I haven’t heard anything about that Project but it wouldn’t surprise me

I'd be fine with Beloso at DH. I said that Jay could go the route of sitting McManus on opening night.

Honestly, I don't think anybody in their right mind would be sold on Fontenot as a starter. Why would Jay and Meatball. He hasn't separated himself, either. He could be a GREAT reliever. I'm sure that's the rift: Devin wants more time to make his mark as a starter. They're ready to make a move. Like I said, give him the ball and let the chips fall where they may. He may surprise everyone.

The post I'm referring to mentioned that the current staff doesn't coddle guys in the same way the old staff did.
Someone mentioned that was a criticism of Dunn they'd never heard or expected to hear. But my interpretation lines up more with what you're saying. It's about the defined role. Under the old coaching staff, some guys were able to get away with a lot more and still keep their role on the staff. Maybe they skip a start (or most of a season coughHenrycough) with a phantom injury and just come back like nothing happened because there wasn't anyone else that could be relied on.
Well, now that ain't the case. There are other guys.

Thank you for your insight.
Just know that you're only getting shite from the regulars now because you're one of the regulars now.

Probably a bit of both. Devin may be having a hard time adjusting to new routines. They prob don't have a Devin routine and a Blake routine and a Will routine - this is the routine, and that's the way it is.

You are either a team guy or you are not. Hopefully Fontenot will be a team guy because I hate to tell him...he's never gonna be a starter beyond the college level.
He may not even be a good one at this level.

Agreed. Nobody is clearly the opening day starter at this point, though.

I think with Devin, it's he wanted that chance to prove himself as a starter which ultimately helps his draft stock which is the main reason he came back
Devin has always struggled when he had to make multiple appearances on a weekend and it's hard to do
The best we ever saw Devin was that long outing against FSU in supers
That's the role he needs to provide on this team even if not starting
Come in on one of the weekend games and go as long as he can and that's where he can be really effective

ABCA Season Preview podcast is up now for every level below D1. 2.5 hours of NAIA, JUCO, D3, and D2 content.
It's a good listen. I've been trying to get more into everything below D1 especially JUCO.

I need to quit being a regular! In the past I’ve tried to bring real/true information. Not something I’ve read over the internet, social media radio shows, etc

I’m sorry but that’s just not allowed here

Just because you talk (or talked) to current players doesn't make your opinions factual or any better than anyone else's. Okay, Lagarrigue? Keep the insider info coming, though.

I prefer to think he's Canevari.

Yea nap you’re just unnecessarily combative at times like Project and Ell.
But you have your insider information that we value.
Project has his spreadsheets
And Ell…. Well we just accept Ell out of habit at this point.
