You can watch a bball game anywhere. People come to JTVer chat for the atmosphere and the attitude.

Odds and Ends:

I was able to find Summer League assignments for 4 guys so far. Jake Slaughter will be playing for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the Cape League. Chris Reid will be playing for the Kokomo Jackrabbits in the Prospect League. Also in the Prospect League, playing for the Danville Dans, are Mason Templet and incoming Catcher Mason Doolittle.

I know what's been missing from the past few seasons. In '09 when LSU won its last CWS, the pregame radio show used "Wicked Garden " as an intro song. Haven't used it since. We need to switch back to that for this year. The results would be favorable.

DESIGNATED HITTER

1) Bryce Jordan Jr. 5'9 206lbs (25)*
2) Nick Coomes Jr. 5'11 196lbs (13)
3) Mason Templet Fr. 6'1 205lbs (23)
4) Jordan Romero Jr. 6'2 213lbs (28)
Jordan Romero is a senior. And why do you think he's so low on the list?
quote:

Then the scouting reports came, Jordan who was an exceptional fastball hitter primarily struggled with off speed down in the zone, teams began to exclusively pitch backwards gong offspeed early and often. Romero started routinely finding himself in 0-1 and 0-2 counts, from there he was guessing every pitch, the batting average began to drop and so did his confidence.
Did you confuse Romero with Bryce?
quote:

Bryce Jordan

Power------60
Hitting------50
Speed------45
Fielding----50
Arm---------50
Come on, Adam. Kid had a 0.410 slg% and 0-2 in stolen bases.

I hate that this makes me look like I'm being too critical of Bryce. I'm not. I do think he's our first DH candidate. But you've got to be better, man.

Typo, fixed it. He's never hit well as a DH, maybe it's a mental thing, I think Jordan and Coomes are both ahead of him right now and Templet provides a left handed bat.

Nope. Both Romero and Bryce got behind in the counts, but that doesn't mean it was just Bryce. The paragraph you copied was in regards to Romero, go back and watch his at bats from last May.

He still runs well for his build even though it's still slightly below average. I don't simply read off a box score and assign a grade I try to take into account his entire makeup.

The makeup is that he had the fewest extra base hits of any of the regulars. And he still had a good average meaning he was on 1B a lot, rarely stole, and when he did (neither was a designed straight steal), he was caught. Running "well for his build" doesn't mean he gets an extra gold star. I'm only asking you to stick to your original, made-up standard: grading them on what they are.

He was eaten alive by UF. He's not the only player to have that happen vs that staff and they weren't the only ones to have his scouting report. He kinda made up for that vs them in the SECT, don't you think? He had 4 bad, 0-fer games in May and you wrote a whole paragraph of BS based on that instead of the whole picture that included limited time through the SECT and post season due to being in the dog house.

I heard that all of the incoming position guys will be playing somewhere. I heard Nick Webre will join Templet and Doolittle and play with the Dans. I believe Cabrerra and Pearson are playing somewhere together, not sure where though.
