Moore def has a size and bat advantage on Chinea.

Wow didn't know he was under .200, I must have been all Chin since I saw his HR. Probably cause we don't see too many of those.

It looks like Purdue plays nothing but road games for the first month. They've been beat up a few times, but they have played a couple of good low scoring games against Tennessee and Rice (3-0, 3-1).

I could see that, It's to early to tell on that end so far.

Well I mean we have last season to go on with Moore and Chinea and it was no comparison there either.

All them northern teams are like that, their field still probably has 4 inches of snow on top of it.

I have a want to see more Fraley and DeHart. Maybe they are good enough to supplant Foster in RF for all we know.

there are some in the baseball world who are trying to make it where northern teams get some type of benefit when it comes to the post season, because southern teams, like most SEC teams, many ACC teams, most of the West Coast teams, have an upper hand because they get to practice out doors all winter long, while many of the northern teams play their first time outside for the season at an opposing teams ball park.

Virginia Tech while we dominated them this weekend, could get a lot better as weather get's warmer up north.

Moore is too clutch to keep him out of the regular lineup IMO. I know we have some really good players but he's proven his reliability.

McMullen-RF
Laird-LF
Bregman-SS
Ibarra-3B
Scivicque-C
Hale-1B
Moore-DH
KRob-2B
Stevenson-CF

Nola-P

That's what I'd have if we were playing Vandy tomorrow.

Hale and Moore are interchangeable.

I don't think Stevenson should be the 9 hole this year again, he has very early proven that he is a much improved hitter this year. I think he could challenge Laird for the two hole spot, especially if laird hits low .200s and stevenson is hitting around .300. Only plus I give laird over Stevenson is that Laird is more patient at the plate and gets more walks then most of the team.

Hell I like Laird leading off, dude has a .500 OBP and no power unlike McMullen who has some.

Why not have Laird 1, Stevenson 2, Bregs 3, Ibarra 4 and McMullen 5

Or move Stevenson to 5 and McMullen to 2

Or you could put Laird in the lead off spot with Stevenson batting second and push McMullen back a little bit.

Terrible problems to have I tell you.

Its going be hard to move Laird, dude gets on base ALOT, probably the best bunter on the team, and a decent Hit and Run guy. I think Stevenson can move to 3rd and bump everyone down one.

Main thing that contributes to his OBP is the fact that he is one hell of a hard out.

McMullen is a good lead off hitter he get's on a lot, Laird or Stevenson is a good 2 because of their ability to bunt and possibly get on with a bunt. I just don't know if Stevenson should be at the 9 hole again this year.

I'm pretty sure Bregs has the 3 hole locked up.

no Bregs fits the 3 hole perfectly.

I guess my lineup would look something like this

1) McMullen
2) Laird/Stevenson
3) Bregman
4) Ibarra
5) Scivique (how ever you spell it)
6) Stevenson (if not batting 2)
7) Moore
8) Krob
9) Hale

He's a good hitter period, with some power, which is why I dont love him at the 1 hole. I'd rather McMullen be put in a spot to drive in runs. Remember, he led the team last year in doubles (tied with Bregman). I also think he will improve upon his 2 HRs from last season. He might have the 3rd most power in the lineup if Foster is out of it (behind Bregman and Ibarra).

good point

the great thing is we can shuffle this line up in so many ways and it will still be very good.

Yeah, I think Laird is the most natural leadoff guy on the team. He's got 7 or 8 walks already. Dude just gets on base. And he can put himself into scoring position on his own.

With Laird hitting 1st and Stevenson hitting 2nd...imagine the double steal opportunities, just saying

This thread is so awesome. We are debating where to put all of our awesome players. Not arguing over benching non performers.

Ya I kinda goofed on that one with Stevenson moving to 3rd, few beers in tonight. But I just can't see Laird getting bounced from 2 hole.

Stevenson I think as he gets further along over the next few weeks, I can see him being moved to 5-6 area possibly. He has some pop in his bat that'll be good for an RBI type spot in the line

ETA: The main thing that I have noticed over the last season or two that we severely lack, are bunters. Laird is easily the best that I've seen so far.
