And Jones won't be either. People keep clinging to this notion because of a mis-speak by Ben McDonald.

So Ben just made it up or maybe he was thinking of someone else? I don’t doubt you I’m just curious

Ben was likely referring to Frey who was definitely mentioned as a corner OF by Johnson and who actually even played that position in games.

Skip would say they have deceptive speed….they’re slower than they look.

In what world did you think posting something showing Jones being ridiculously faster than Dylan Crews was a good idea?

The eye test isn't always accurate, but geez this is bad

These are numbers coming out of high school….

Jones - 7.18

if Jones is 7.18 then Kling must be around 1.36

Baseball players speed (Jones misconception)

I've never heard anyone complain that he's too slow. Where are these mysterious misconceptions?

We weren't much of a base stealing team this year. Mostly because we didn't need to and many didn't have the speed needed to be a threat. That could change next year though.

I’ll wager 3 years salary that Dylan Crews is faster than a 7.2

I wanted to know what Kling’s numbers actually were in H.S.:

Recorded a 6.45 second 60-yard dash time. PerfectGame

Was always mind boggling to me when announcers we're slurping off Crews and saying "he can fly"

MLB scouts have him at Plus Speed (above average).

but i’m sure his High School PE teacher is the more accurate one.
