Anyone else hopeful if we can get this win today we can go on and somehow make the tournament? What would it take? I personally believe if we win today, sweep either Georgia or florida and win the other series of those two 2/3 we make it in.

We would have to go 5-1 against UGA and UF to have any shot of making it at large

Reality is we need to win the SECt beacuse I don't see that happening

It’s great your loyalty and fandom for LSU, I’m the same. On the other hand LSU would have to win(sweep) today. Win both Series Florida & Georgia, sweep both would obviously help but not happening. Then proceed to make a run to the Finals of SEC tourney.
That would be the only way they get in, even if that’s enough?!? to get in.
Assured way in is win the SEC tourney. But since getting swept 3 times(SEC) series in a row, all they have done is win a mid-week game and win a series at home against the second worse team in the SEC. There’s always a chance until it’s not. Pump the brakes and get the sweep today. GEAUX Tigers.

in SEC play LSU is 8-15, to make the post season they need probably 14 wins in SEC. There are 7 SEC games left before the final game vs SC today. Some people think they could make it with 13 wins, but I doubt with their RPI they are in with 13 conference wins.

LSU needs to win 6 out of the last 7 SEC games to make the post season.
The chances of losing only 1 game out of the remaining SEC games is not very probable. For LSU to make the ncaa tournament they will most likely have to win the SEC tournament in Hoover.

I don't see LSU only losing 1 more SEC game or winning the tournament in Hoover.

I feel like 13 regular season wins and 2 in the sec tournament would give us a pretty good shot. But IDK.

That’s a very tall order, regardless.

They really needed the sweep on Miss State if they were going to realistically push. They should've ended up with all 3 games against Miss State if pitching didn't fail.

South Carolina is an awful baseball team. They need to win today and take at least 2/3 against UGA and Florida. 13-17 might get you in, but no a lock; 12-18, you’re out.

Simply put we need to get to 15 SEC wins between the regular season and SECt in Hoover to feel good about a regional bid. For every SEC loss we take for the remainder of the season we need to win 1 game in Hoover.

12-18; 3 wins in Hoover
13-17; 2 wins in Hoover

We wouldn’t have to sweep. 2/3 in our last two series would do it.

Ehh. 14 regular season wins and you're guaranteed an at large.

if we sweep today and go 4-2, we'd certainly have a shot of getting an at large at 13-17.

If you go 13-17, win one in the SECT, you're very close to a lock. That's our number at the moment.

If you go 12-18, you likely have to win 4 in the SECT (getting to the championship) and that might still not get you in.

Any less than 12, you 100% have to win the SECT.

Yea if they win 8 out of their last 9 SEC games they’ll make it.

Hopefully he was saying that we wouldn't "need" to do that to get in.

If we go 4-2 from here on out, we wouldn't have to reach the championship of the SECT to get into the post season.

Not with our RPI, when people say 14 SEC wins gets you in automatically, those teams all had substantially higher RPIs than we have, depends where ours would end up but at mid 50s right now, we are far far away from where we need to be to be an at large.

I do think 14-16 and a few SECt wins might do it, but 14-16 and no SECt wins i think we would likely get left out. Again all depends where the RPI ends up though.

Those 13 and 14 win SEC teams that made it in the past had RPIs in the 30ish range at worst.l i believe when looking them up.

Its not like a 13 or 14 win SEC team got in at large with an RPI of 45.

The 5 quad 4 losses is what really kills this teams resume. These SEC teams that barely got in in the past weren't that bad in that respect and why our RPI is just substantially lower.

If the scenario you mention plays out I think we can squeak in. Anything less and we need to get to the SECT Finals.

Go 13-17. Reach the SECT semis.

Then MAYBE.
