Good news is last time LSU lost to Mcneese they went on the win the national championship in 2000.

Not just once that year, but twice.

It just one midweek game. It happens in baseball.

Host teams? Host teams?! You wanna talk about host teams?!

This is the kind of loss that will haunt us when the committee is deciding on the final few regional teams, period, never mind host teams.

I think they have another game before then. Don't count anyone out at this point.

True, but to the #16 team in the country. I don't know how much worse that is than a 2 hit shutout to McNeese. Oh well though, as said before 2 steps forward, 1 back with this young squad.

Sounds more like 1 step forward, 2 steps back.

No it's not good news. This team has zero chance at a national championship.

I would say winning a series against the number 2 ranked team in the country is 2 steps forward and losing to Mcneese is a small step backwards. It's one game in the midweek vs a 3 game weekend conference series against a national powerhouse.

Hypothetically....Losing to a team like Vandy would be a small step backwards, they are highly ranked and a tough contender.

Losing to an unranked team like Mcneese is not a small step backwards. Let's just say it will not be good for our ranking. And we didn't just lose, we got shut out 7-0. Incredible how the baseball logic only seems to be applied in one direction. It goes both ways.
