And McNeese finally has an AD that will go out and shake them. This AD has been a fundraising machine. Not on LSU's level but pretty damn good for our level.

So what do you guys think about Gilbert retaining Hoefer as a position coach? Bolfing (TE) and Osbourne (DE) to remain on staff as well.

Not totally surprising since I am told that they are good friends and they were seen at the Golden Nugget eating together after Gilbert's announcement press conference. Gilbert says he will call his own plays.

As far as Bolfing and Osbourne, I was told they are just Graduate Assistant Coaches so it doesn't mean or cost much. I am glad for Tyler Bolfing because his wife, Lakeyn, works in Event Management and Facilities and they won't have to be split up again like they were when he was at ULM.

I am more interested in how he is going to fill in the rest of the staff, especially on the defensive side and on the offensive line. The offensive line was the weak link on the team the whole year.

Someone downvoted me...hmmmmmm, I wonder who did that? You know it’s eating his arse he can’t delete these posts.

If you are insinuating it was me, you are dead wrong. And I don't care what is posted here so I wouldn't want to be deleting any posts.

Hey look...it’s the Nazi homer admin of the McNeese board. Don’t say anything negative around him, or he will delete it.

Yep, I am a total Nazi and I am deleting posts right and left all the time.

If you believe that, I have some beach front property in Hackberry I'd like to see you. White sand and crystal blue water.

Orgerons will be back so will there be a qb battle I $eriously doubt it I also wonder will they risk Parker with 4 concussions in less than 2 years. He sat the entire spring this year.

Cody will be facing a battle with the freshman QB from Florida, Cam Smith.

I'd be surpised if Parker ever plays football again due to all the concussions. I'd rather he not play than risk his future health even though he was a very good player.

Agreed. Kid is a winner. He didn’t get much opportunity to throw the ball in HS based on his stats, but being the QB at American Heritage speaks for itself, IMO. Hopefully he can translate that to the college level.

He has an arm. I heard he did some good things running the scout squad this past season.

Nevermind the offense when he has a QB that is capable. With a competent QB, South Florida averaged 517 ypg. Funny how a QB can make or break you.

I am waiting to see what he can do with that freshman QB, Cam Smith, who redshirted this past season

Went looking for reaction on the McNeese Geaux Cowboys board, but there's nothing there. Must have to wait until the hamster turns on the electricity in LC before they can access the internet.

Nobody hardly uses that board anymore. It is a dying dinosaur. Everybody posts on the Facebook Geauxcowboys Public Discussion Group now. There is more activity there than there ever was on the old Geauxcowboys Messageboard.

Good news is last time LSU lost to Mcneese they went on the win the national championship in 2000.

Not just once that year, but twice.

It just one midweek game. It happens in baseball.

Doc

Go look at stats for our TE's versus McNeese TE's (stats) and get back to us.

I think we should utilize our TE's more, by the way.

I wouldn't go too much on last year's stats. Our new O.C. Landon Hoefer is a Mike Leach disciple. I bet our offense gets opened up a little next season.

Doc

Hope both are thinking about going to McNeese. Hoeffer seems like he will run wide open. They'll get their touches here.

What's the word around town?

With Landon Hoefer being a Mike Leach disciple, I have to think that the offense will definitely open up some.

I'd rather win conference than beat LSU. I'd rather win a National Championship than beat LSU. Those are our goals.

I think it'd be a positive and a good thing, but we have other business to take care of. If we were to beat LSU and then miss the playoff, or go one and done, what'd we really accomplish. Some bragging rights? That's about it.

I'd much rather beat Southeastern and Sam Houston St. than LSU.

They did very nearly upset Nebraska recently. However that Cowboy team was better than the current one and LSU is far more talented than that Nebraska team. Most importantly, Less will never allow his kids to disrespect or take lightly any opponent, much less a fellow state school.

Wait.....that was last season and the team is almost the same team except with everybody healed up and with a few new players, this year's team is expected to be better than last seasons.

Of course, LSU is a whole different creature than Nebraska was last year and I think the LSU team is taking McNeese a little more seriously than the Nebraska players did last season. I bet the LSU players are taking McNeese more seriously than some of the LSU fans are.

It would take a miracle for McNeese to win. I'd like to at least keep it a little close and not get totally embarrassed.

Doc

Best they can hope for is to not lose half of their team to injury. Oh and I to work with a former Mcneese band member who tried to argue their chance at victory.

This is a fallacy that FCS teams get more injuries playing FBS teams. We have never had that many injuries playing FBS teams. As example, we hardly had any injuries last season against Nebraska but had two season ending injuries in the two games, Prairie View A&M and Arkansas Tech University, which followed Nebraska.

As far as the McNeese fan the original poster referenced, he is young and will learn. I find that young fans of any school usually have extreme views of their teams and aren't very realistic about their team.

No, no, no!!! Most McNeese fans favorite photo is this one. Especially with the deer in the headlight graphic which is what the ULL fans looked like after the 2007 game.

Because you want to support the institution of which you are a fan?
The point I was trying to make is that the tickets aren't in that high demand if McNeese had to return 1/3 of its allotted seats.

We are getting paid a set fee that is not tied to the number of tickets we sold. I know a lot of people who sat in the upper deck last time and who missed out getting seats in the lower sections, that decided to buy tickets by other means than buy those upper deck tickets that McNeese had left.

Oh ok , thanks! I had heard it was the Briscoe kid from Central High but that was a while back and wasn't a very reliable source.

Will Briscoe, along with Tyler Bolfing who was a co-starter last year, both decided to hang up their cleats this season and are graduate assistant coaches. The writing was on the wall for Bolfing as it became apparent that the 6' 6" Grant Ashcraft was going to be the backup to Daniel Sams.

The one that is hurt is the backup QB

Lissard is 3rd on the depth chart. Grant Ashcraft is 2nd.

I'm not talking about in regards to this game. I'm talking about in regards to the program as a whole. Viator needs to be replaced but people like you will never that happen. Until Viator is gone, we'll win the occasional big game we have no business winning, and continue choking away games we have no business losing. Viator has to go.

Wow! I didn't know I had that much power to tell McNeese who they can hire and fire and to tell them what coaches they have to keep.

I'm just a fan that likes to take photos. I have zero pull with the athletic administration.

I'm an old fart who graduated in 1972 and I support the program no matter who is the coach through thick and thin.
