So who's going to coach 3rd base?

Sanchez. Mainieri thinks his pork n beans are finally coming around.

And they're not even Van Camps or Campbells, but those cheapie Showboat pork n beans.

Sanchez at third and hitting coach = status quo.

Mainieri hired a top notch pitching coach and it already appears to be paying dividends. Why not also bring in a great hitting coach?

Once again I'll say that I hope Javi doesn't turn out to be PM's "Baseball Tepper."

No, who's on first.

Last Year wasnt bad with guys getting thrown out at the plate. Giving mahtook a season long green light to do what he wanted on the bases was stupid

This coupled with Paul reading money ball might be the factors that get us over the new hump with the new bats.

"His baseball IQ is awesome," said starting pitcher Kevin Gausman. "It's been great to work with him, the way he carries himself. He's got that swagger. He really brought the pitching staff together. We all feel really comfortable and have a good relationship with him."

I have never seen LSU have a 3rd base coach that the fans thought was any good. Smoke, Bianco, Dailey, Godwin, Javi and whoever else. I've seen the fans complain about each and every one getting people thrown out.

If your hitting coach is Javy Sanchez, then no...I don't want a hitting coach in charge of hitting.

Yes, and we all know Les Miles is in charge of bunting.

Sorry about this. Not meant to inflame. What is it that you don't like about Jave being the hitting coach? Our team hit pretty good last year. Maybe, we didn't get enough hits with players on base, but is that what your are talking about? I'm not trying to get everyone to talk bad about our coach, but it seems to be "anti-establishment" to say anything good about him. I like him. Do you know something about him that I don't?

Our team batting average since 2007:

2007: .256
2008: .306
2009: .315
2010: .319
2011: .303

That wasn't all Javi, I think he began as the full time hitting coach in 2009 or 2010.

Our hitting should be fine. People bash him more because of his 3rd base coaching decisions.

Thank you! I didn't know that. I bet not many do. Over .300 for team overall since 2008 is absolutely top tray. I bet there is one on this board that is going to ask you "but what was their average in the SEC?"
