I hate the arrogance of big league guys. Here is why the college coach calls pitches:
- Alan Dunn has 30+ years on coaching baseball, the catchers do not
- Alan Dunn knows the scouting reports inside and out
- Alan Dunn knows how to help a pitcher who is struggling by pitch selection
- the SEC schedule is 30 games long, MLB season is 162 games. One bad pitch selection could change the outcome of a game.
- watch mlb in the postseason. While the coaches don't call the game, the catcher sure does look on the dugout a lot between batters and pitches.
