Yeah, not sure what stevenson brings.....other than speed that people want to see in the leadoff spot. He Ks alot, doesnt work counts, and has been successful where he is in the lineup.

Exactly, he's getting hits, i say put him 5th and get him more rbi chances.

Ehh wasnt a big deal to me, we arent hitting and sciambra looked good the last two games. Fraley takes the hit because mcmullen, laird, and stevie cant be benched.

Did anybody see UVA's pitcher throw a no-hitter with 18 K's?

You're right. When analyzing yeah or nay for Stevenson as leadoff, I just come back to the most important stat for me, and that's OB%. Yeah, I'd like to see him run. Yeah, I'd like for him to cut down on K's and draw more walks, but OB% is good enough for me to roll the dice.

I don't think anyone understands it, Mainieri included.

Stevenson was born to hit in the bottom third of the order. He brings his speed, which can be great if he gets on and the top of the order is due up. He can also hit the ball but he does it early and often. Meaning, he doesn't work the count or get enough walks to be a leadoff.

He is doing great where he is at, leave it alone.

As far as the comment on Brennan batting leadoff, CPM was desperate for him to get more at bats in other situations. He was just trying to be a slump buster. Jacoby Jones hit from 1,2,6,7,8,9

Mentality is to get a player seeing different scenarios.

Bottom line, put Fraley in

It was argued that Sciambra brings a better bat but I think we saw that idea come to rest tonight.

I can see it being argued, but it just won't make for a very good argument (even before tonight).
