Aside the end of last year, Pappy was a terrible hitter and was only on the field for defense. If he was an elite defensive catcher, he wasn’t behind all 3 guys. I don’t remember his stats from the fall but I do remember seeing he had a homer that he hit like 106 mph or something like that. It’s not like he brought nothing at the plate

So all 3 catchers on the roster are injured? Bain is starting at 2nd over Broussard? I hope that's a sign that Bain is killing the ball and not that Broussard is struggling at the plate.

How exactly is this not good sign? From what i understand Bain has been pretty good at 2nd and has hit some rockets in the scrimmages. Why not give a game or two to see what happens.

I believe the phrase CPM used was they are taking it slow. No need in rushing someone back when you have a month before any of them will really be needed.

He will be given a game or two early in the season to see how he does. I wouldn't read much into it right now other than this is CPM giving him a chance to get on the field. For what it's worth he was recruited out of high school by other schools as a infielder so it's not like he is just a warm body.

I didn't see Doughty's name mentioned. Is he also injured?

I love PM tinkering with the lineup. You have to do it throughout the season if you're going to make a run. He's done it before. Bertman did it.
