Yea he had a decent AB but not who you want up in that scenario. I'd still take Pap at the plate over Smith or Slaughter.

After the Smoke fiasco, LSU wasn't a great job at the time. PM has made LSU a great job again, and deserves major credit for that. His downfall his entire tenure has been he leaves pitchers in way too long. When things aren't going well, he will make changes.

It was still a great job. PM was already almost a HOF coach when he came to LSU. He was an elite coaching hire. People won't remember that, but he was.
