I agree with you. And I can't help but wonder how effectice Ott will be his next outing. He can't have much confidence left. Back to back outings where he ended up with the loss. Admittedly, there hasn't been much opportunity for him to pitch lately with the losses lately but still...when he has pitched, he has struggled. All 5 walks in the game scored, didn't they?

Putting in your All-American caliber closer after your short reliever has already gone almost 4 innings isn't the wrong decision.
I totally agree that putting your All-American caliber closer is in the right decision, but all we have is Ott with his 6.57 ERA (and it has been much worse lately).
When your "ace" has an ERA over 9 and your "closer" has an ERA of 6.57, you aren't going to win many games - plain and simple.

Terry...that's the best thing said tonight.

It was like listening to an LSU football game there to be lost at the end.
It wasn't a football game, it's baseball. LSU wil be back, it hurts, it just happens. We won it all last year, that's awesome. 6 TIMES we have won it, The Yankees don't win it it every year anymore..it's OK

is this the worst pitching staff since early 70's?

It's like I said in another post...it's almost as if, over the past month, some sort of virus has infected this pitching staff, with the exception of Bertuccini, and possibly Alsup. Everybody else has been horrible.
This team has gone from the 2nd best 38-game record in school history to struggling to even make the SEC tourney in a month's time. I'm at a total loss to explain what has happened. I've never seen an LSU baseball team collapse like this.

year before last we won what like 27 in row, made CWS, last year we won the CWS and yes it's sad what has happen this year but this is when LSU baseball fans need to fill up the BOX next week.

Oh yeah, me too.
But for the first time this year, I'm not counting on buying my regional ticket books. Funny, I took it for granted all season, too.

I'm glad that I planned my vacation to Costa Rica around going to an LSU Super Regional.

Still hoping we get on a hot streak, but for now I'm not worried about us making it to Omaha..but Birmingham.

This season is far from over. Have faith, everyone.
It's actually pretty close to being over. But I'm still hoping for some sort of pitching miracle to manifest.

LSU will not make the regional this year. Maybe some other SEC school can rep in the CWS.

We all forget that if not for the extra inning win last Friday, that would have been three sweeps in a row
