I've said before that if Mainieri wants to hire another former player to be a hitting coach (not that I'm advocating for it), he could do much worse than Chris Reid.
Reid is a damn solid hitter, even though he's VERY limited physically. Those are usually the guys that make good coaches. They approach the game differently b/c they can't depend on their talent. They have to overcome it to have success.

Don't worry, they'll be back as soon as they can find some way to bitch about CPM

I can’t believe Watson was able to run that down without even needing to dive. Dude has wheels

Yeah you don't burn Hess with a 4 run lead.
I’d rather give Hess another day of rest anyway.
I’m just glad to see Walker finish the 6th. That’s big for the bullpen

I've heard it many times that stars usually don't make great coaches because they can't understand why people can't do what they can/could do.

Agreed. Ideally, he could be saved to start Game 3. Against their #3 starter, we should be able to score enough runs where Zach wouldn't have to be perfect - but, would be solid enough to complete the sweep. Yes, I said sweep!!

Anyone else is sliding across right center to even attempt to get to that ball.

With all due respect to Reid, let’s get somebody who is used to coaching kids how to hit.

Reid was coaching 10 year olds when Mainieri called him to come back.

Isn't that what he was doing when he got called back to the team?

The last #LSU starter to record an out in the sixth inning was Eric Walker against Alabama on April 27
If that seems like a long time ago, try this one on for size: the last #LSU pitcher to finish six innings was Cole Henry on April 13
Wow! I would have never believed that coming into this season.

Definitely let Walker start the 7th. Then tight leash

For a couple of months. Much rather somebody like Todd Walker or Russ Johnson who have done it for years.
Ben has as well but assume he handles mainly pitching
