So we’re great at getting walked and then hitting into a double play afterwards.

those stats aren't good on either side - pitching or hitting

might be time to give Herring a start for game 3 unless you need him in game 1 or 2

when team is struggling you have to be able to hang your hat on some aspect of the game and LSU is not doing anything consistently well game in and game out

The only thing more shocking than looking at this is there's still someone worse than us in the conference.

I'm guessing Mizzou is that team behind us
they are pretty bad
have no idea what they lost in transfer portal with coaching change

Over the last two seasons, Herring has essentially perfected the role of finishing off the final 2-3 innings on Fridays. The problem is, we can't seem to get him the ball with the lead anymore.

I think if you're up by 4-5 runs when you pull Holman, you go to someone else and start Herring in game 3. If it's any closer than that, Herring finishes off game 1.

Here's what stands out to me:

13 - Batting Average (.243) - Not a Jay Johnson thing
14 - Walks (53) - What is Nate doing?

Brasswell
- #1 in the league in OB% .541
- #12 in league in BA .393
- 6th in walks (8)
- 1st in Errors (3)
So of course our fans want someone else at SS

Travinski
- 1st in fielding % (1.000) (tied with 14 others) - Has to be a joke, right?

In no way am I downplaying our issues, but we really do need a little luck to get out of this hole.

Every team is good, including LSU. The difference in game/series results is in the little things, and some luck.

It's not and it was like this last year. It has more to do with how you account for PB vs WP. Balls Trav should have been able to trap are wild pitches when he doesn't because they were in the dirt before they got to the catcher. Similar to a ball in the dirt you would expect a first baseman to scoop but will get called an error on the throw (which it technically is) if he does not.

53 walks in 9 games is hard to stomach. Especially when you look at how close we were to winning the Florida and Arkansas series. We are nearly averaging more walks per SEC game than Arkansas gave up our entire 3 game series.

But let’s shite on Braswell…

Neal - 3 starts, 3 wild pitches

Trav - 5 starts, 5 wild pitches

Milazzo - 1 start, 2 wild pitches, 1 passed ball

Stolen Bases allowed in SEC play
6 - Neal
3 - Travinski
0 - Milazzo
