Tell me which targeting calls were missed on Clemson Your statement is idiotic. You don't let anyone play through targeting calls.

I'm glad to see Clemson win, but it was definitely a pick that could have been called. Should it have been called? I don't know. That's a fairly common play that is only called about 50% of the time (if that).

Rest assured however, Saban will be harping on that play to the rules committee all offseason inevitably leading to that play being a "point of emphasis" for officials next year.

Is the pick play not legal inside of 1 yard? I thought it was legal by rule to be able to block a defender inside of 1 yard. He was clearly blocking at 1 yard out... IMO it is legal

Ha! When you don't have the benefit of the SEC refs on your side, things look a little different. This is how the other teams in the west feel.

As I said in another thread, CLASSLESS! Trying to clothesline DW with a forearm and give MW a shot to the head, now you want to complain!

The final TD was not a pick play, the WR was pulled down and never touched the other CB

Excellent observation, the gump db basically tackled his man on the TD, allowing Renfro to gain a step on the gump that was covering him, their over aggression got the best of them. The gumps are dead :nana: :nana:

The first pic play the recv looked back and put his hands up trying to look like he was playing the pass.

On the second it looked like the recv didn't do as good of a job selling the pass so that one could have been called.

This pic shows the Bama db with the Clemson receiver falling at his feet after he pulled him down, while the DB responsible for covering Refrow is being forced over the top by the action of his own teammate.

I saw no targeting no the part of Clemson. The others on the tide should have resulted in ejections, but I guess the refs were letting them 'play'...har, har, har.

Well tell that to DeShaun Watson because he said in his interview (the receiver) "did a good job of picking the defender." It was ABSOLUTELY designed as a pick, rub, whatever you want to call it. The Bama defender just tried to defend it by dragging down the WR. It doesn't change the design of the play though.

Again, that play is pretty common and is probably called a penalty less than 50% of the time. Credit Clemson for the good execution. I sure the refs did not want to throw a flag on the final play unless they absolutely had to. Bama fans will obviously disagree, but I don't think the "pick" was egregious enough that the officials had no choice but to throw a flag.

The hit on Williams by Tony Brown was text book targeting which should have been an ejection, not even a question. They didn't even flag the play if I recall.

That was the only play of the entire game I saw. Put kids to bed, put on the game, saw that play, laughed, then changed the channel.

Woke up to this surprise. Congrats to Clemson. Lucky for them they are not in the SEC. If that's an SEC Game, they lose.
