We'll agree to disagree. Everybody sees things differently.
But,
Ain't happening Captain.

I'm gonna have to say that LSU blitzes well situationally. I don't know why y'all are arguing about blitzes, but I would say LSU brings more than 4 down linemen with more frequency than the average SEC team.
I like blitzing inexperienced QBs (I would consider McCarron to be relatively inexperienced because he is a 1st year starter), but against Bama, It must be done situational (i.e. 2nd and 8+ or 3rd and 6+ and delay blitzes on 1st down). Les and Chavis seem to play percentages with occasional deviations from norm. The problem with blitzing is when the QB can buy time and complete a pass beyond the blitz. There is more running room, and TR can punish DBs with a running start.
Bama will have some success against the blitz, but McCarron must be made to feel uncomfortable. So blitzing with good timing WILL make good things happen against Bama.
Easier said than done though.
LSU's coverage makes QBs feel like they must take sacks, and combined with pressure, it can be overwhelming for young guys like McCarron.
I can't freaking wait!!!

yeah, well, that is the hand that Chavis plays, I'm used to it now, so it doesn't matter. I was just tryin to explain it to someone, but it falls on deaf ears that's the problem. I just hope Chavis calls a good game, that is all I ask, he has been doing a good job this year so I hope it continues.

they used plenty SO against us. did you even WATCH THE GAME?
no,weiss wants to run a pro style but they resorted to SO for much of the games without BRANTLEY! for obvious reasons.

Sure, they used it against us down their first 2 qbs, but they are more of a pro style offense under brantley this year

Notable Bama losses from 2010:
Mark Ingram
Julio Jones
Marcel Darius
James Carpenter
Greg McElroy
Notable LSU losses from 2010:
Patrick Peterson
Drake Nevis
Kelvin Sheppard
Stevan Ridley
Terrance Toliver
Notable emerging players for Bama 2011:
AJ McCarron
Jesse Williams
Trent Richardson
Notable emerging players for LSU 2011:
Sam Montgomery
Odell Beckham JR.
Spencer Ware
With Bama replacing FOUR 1st Rd. picks and a 5th yr senior QB, it's easy to say that Bama is coming into this game with a weaker team than last years' squad that lost to LSU 24-21. On the other side of the coin, LSU returns nearly the same team. Ware & Ford have made the Tiger faithful forget about Ridley. Beckham Jr. has surpassed Toliver's production. Mathieu has been every bit as much of a game-changer as Peterson ever was, and the D-line has hidden the loss of Nevis and Sheppard. And how could we forget the emergence of Jarrett Lee as a playaction assassin?
It's easy to make the argument that LSU is marching a stronger army into this battle while Bama's forces will need the advantage of their fortification to repel this attack.

For the folks saying Bama has no ST players, Maze isn't that bad. He is no Arenas, that's for sure. But he is not bad. I mean he's only 2nd in the country in PR yards.

TR out of the back field. We stop him and we win.
Posted on 10/27/11 at 3:06 pm to HudsonLee
keeping him in check is the key to beating Bama, Richardson can't run wild, if he is held in check it forces McCaron to beat you which is what you want.

you are lost as frick is what you are.
