some are probably obvious

Defense:
1 - Utilize man-on-man to stop Ingram. PP is one of the few DBs who can match up very well with Julio. Peek needs to be accounted for.
2 - Blitz Gmac.....he hates pressure.
3 - Put a spy on Ingram. Jones would do nicely

Disguising blitzes is very important. If successful, this will really get into Gmac head.

Offense:
1 - Max protect and it's TT, BL, and RR/RS/TH versus the Bama secondary. I really like the size advantage with TT and BL here.
2 - KW out of the backfield on delayed routes.....Saban kryptonite
3 - Spread it out and role it out with a relief valve. If the safety picks up the RB and everyone is covered, JJ runs for 5+.
4 - Every now and then, employ the quick slant with cut blocks along the line. This will slow down the DL and have them second guessing.
5 - Delayed QB draws......old skool style.

Establishing the power running game and option attack is futile.....has been before Bama and they are not the team to try and get it back.

OK, let's hear some others.

1. Show up in Tuscaloosa.

2. Agree to kick off.

3. Win.

Vulcan, I have seen your other post. The sandbagging is weak. If you have nothing of substance to add, take a walk.

I'm telling ya. It's not "sandbagging." This is the worst undefeated team in recent history and I'm surprised anyone here is worried about strategy.

Just show up and win.

2005 Mike Shula begs to differ.

Emphasis on #1 being that Miles continues with stretching the field with some mid-to-deep sideline routes for JoJo, TT, and Randle versus their smaller DB's - even the threat of having to defend the "jump balls", whether completed all the time or not, will create concern for Saban to pull the LB's back out of the box to help in coverage. Also, an opportunity to get some yellow flags for pass interference on these pass routes. I don't like a lot of over-the-middle passes since JJ has still not sold me on his accuracy in traffic and/or our receivers catching the ball in traffic - could create some tipped balls for INT's for Bama, which we cannot afford.

Ball control, with some stretch plays as you have mentioned, plus the above mentioned deep patterns will give us a chance to score some points.

Then, it's a matter of whether our Dline can stop their running game - I have faith in our LB's and DB's, but concerned about the line of scrimmage.

I suspect that Bama will deploy some of the same strategies against us that have been mentioned here.

No, Bama is a very, very good team, and LSU will have to play an excellent game to win. Every team goes through rough patches and has bad games. There is more parity than you're willing to admit.

I'm just happy that Bama has shown weaknesses.

I would add to the offense passing to the TE over the middle. That's another one that has killed Saban defenses.

That's the ballgame right there. So far this season, McElroy has had a tough time getting the ball to Jones.

I say put our best against their best, and if that ain't good enough, then so bet it, but I certainly like LSU's chances, given that PP did a pretty good job on AJ Green.

LSU has to stop the run. If the Tigers can't do that, then it'll be a long, long day in T-town.

I would add to this:

Defense: Place special emphasis on the secondary fighting off of the receiver blocks.

Another important basic item is getting our Dlineman to keep the backers free. If KS, PR, HC, et al can be free to take shots at Ingram, then we'll have success. Provided we stress good tackling technique.

Do NOT miss tackles. Ingram is pretty much all Alabama has going for them right now and he can break off 15-25 yard runs at any time.

Stay in your gap and keep him in front.

I think this is another game the LB's will have to show up big.

I didn't read that until after I posted.

Is Ingram really that good? Or is he just very solid and runs behind a great OL?

1. I would also add one full wildcat series for Shepard with a second down and 6 yards or less pass. Followed up with a 1st down go flag pass to TT or Lafell. Trindon the motion guy and CS the fullback blast. TT bubble screen out of the formation. (Lafell is the best blocking receiver and TT the best runner. Yet they always screen to Lafell rather than TT????)

2. One flea flicker with RS at running back and JJ at QB.

3. There will be one surprise play that was tested against Auburn. I wont divulge until after the game.

4. One fake punt at an appropriate time early in the game. Will slow down the rush on punts and field goals and it may work.

5. Lots of roll out and 3 step drop passes.

6. Lots of screens and misdirection. On middle screens JJ must hold the ball a few seconds longer. He throws it too soon which defeat the purpose of the screen.

7. Defense with 8 in the box. Make Ala win with their QB. Run Blitz early and often.

Keep the dropped passes to a min. way too many of these lately.

Remember, snazzy trick plays will blow up in your face against Saban's D.

The flea flicker would be snuffed in a heartbeat against that D. If our oline was playing lights out, then maybe. But, not this year.

don't know if Saban's been burned on this other than against UGA 2004, but in that game UGA torched the D with 2 or 3 somewhat quick, yet long passes to the outside. Ideally quick enough (not too much arc) to prevent the safety from getting there over the top. Of course, this depends on JJ being able to deliver that ball.
