Announcer called it at halftime. When the ball isn’t falling you’ve got to have another facet or two pick you up. That’s free throws rebounding and defense. We sucked at all 3.
I’m getting sick of watching these guys stare at the ball and at the shot instead of putting a damn body on someone.

Everything you’ve sighted is valid, but they are issues that LSU has had all season long (including in their wins), not just in the games that you’re able to somehow discern from your couch that they weren’t mentally prepared for. Believe it or not, in a game where the two teams have the same amount of turnovers, but one team shoots worse from the floor, from 3 and from the the free throw line, that team is likely going to lose the game. It’s an easy deduction to make without acting like you have the slightest clue as to whether or not they were “mentally prepared”.

This is the first time I have stumbled across your posts on TD. It appears you are special af. Have you played basketball at a competitive level above junior high church league?
There is a lot more to the game of basketball than shooting. Poor shot selection can lead to a poor shooting %. Hints to Thomas tonight, he took some awful shots fading away with defenders in his face. You are going to have nights when you aren’t shooting well, good teams find ways to win those games. Great coaches know how to make in game adjustments. Early on, we should have tried to drive the ball to the rim and get to the foul line.

Yep, read their clippings again and figured they just had to show up without effort and they could still win. It would be understandable if we didn't have three juniors playing a lot of time and a five star sophomore and freshman filling out the roster. How many seasons of basketball iq does it take to know that in the SEC, especially in an away game, you have to come with maximum effort or you lose?

100%
This is on the coaching staff, they didn’t have the team mentally prepared to play.

I couldn’t believe the lack of intensity early on. You would think a team looking to crack the top 25 and move into a top 6 seed would show up ready to go. We honestly looked like a .500 team destined for the NIT.

Yeah, as a matter of fact I did, but please try to simply stay on topic if you’re capable (funny considering you’re the one calling me “special”)

There you go again pointing out something as if it’s a novel concept supporting your claim about not being mentally prepared for this game in particular, and ignoring that it’s been the case in the vast majority of the games he’s played.

It happens. Give UGA some credit. They came to play.
What a shitty excuse for poor coaching and poor preparation.
Especially for a team that needed to avoid anymore bad losses.

Cook is the only one I saw matching UGA'a speed and intensity. Gaines is really good on D and has a lot of potential, but his offensive numbers are about as bad as they can be for a player. Cook is way better on offense and his D looks just as good. He needs to get more minutes. UGA could not defend him when he drove to the hoop. He is super-fast on the drive. Scored 11 in limited minutes.

It’s time and score situations, understand the place in the game. If UGA is on a run and you are cold from the field, try to beat your defender and get the ball to the rim. Not pull up a contested fade away jumper. It’s a low percentage shot that feeds to UGAs run.
Thomas is a heck of a scorer and will be a good NBA player. But these are things he needs to learn.
So no, your point is dumb. It isn’t a matter of the ball just not going in the hoop tonight.

You’re missing my point. My point is that you’re using a bunch of issues that plague this team almost every time they take the floor as evidence to support your claim that they weren’t mentally prepared for tonight’s game specifically. You see the issue with that, yes?
