And you're dumb for thinking so. He's a great recruiter, not a good coach.

Why isn’t the secondary coach that Aranda hired being blamed for the DB fall off? Kind of weird that he’s a secondary guru but they got worse while he was here, no?

We need a teacher for the cornerbacks, not another recruiter. I would rather get a coach there that has a good rep for development.

I agree. I can’t think of one single corner Raymond actually developed while he was here…

Can you give us the top 25? Hell, just 10 of the top 25.

So who developed the CBs during his time here? Were they just finished products who needed physical maturity? Or were they developed by someone else on staff?
ETA - my bad, apparently replied to sarcasm

The same people who hate Raymond are the ones who said Steeples was an upgrade and our secondary has been awful since. I think Raymond is a good DB coach. He doesn’t need to be anything more than that though and that was the trajectory he thought he deserved. Go recruit top level talent and bring DBU back. Then get a raise. But you can’t decline and expect to become DC or Assistant Coach. Frank Wilson has earned everything he got. Raymond isn’t on that level and he needs to know that.
I think a lot of fans are just mad Napier took him worried he would bring them out of the gutter but that didn’t happen.

We get it, you think the guy who’s last 4 secondaries have been terrible is the guy for the job. You’ve been in every thread saying it.

There are a few who could be guys for the job. Only two are realistic. It’s actually impressive because all of the anti Raymond guys on here have not named one DB coach they want to hire.

LSU can do better than Corey Raymond
Never hire a coach that just got fired for doing a shitty job. And at Florida, no less.

I for one never thought much, if anything about Steeples, he too is not a good coach

I don’t have a top 25 secondary coaches list on me my man. I’m just telling you, Corey Raymond is not a great x& o coach. It looks like he’s the choice so hopefully it works out.

Your as good as the guys you have

This is one of the dumbest things I've ever read on this board. Post your top 25 and back up your dumbass statement. Let me know how many DB coaches in the country can beat this resume.

Raymond coached 16 Tigers who were picked in the NFL Draft, including four first rounders – Derek Stingley Jr. (2022), Adams and White (2017), and Eric Reid (2013), along with five second round picks that include Delpit (2020), Kristen Fulton (2020), Donte Jackson (2019), Williams (2018) and Jalen Collins (2015).
Other LSU NFL Draft picks under Raymond’s watch include: cornerback Tyrann Mathieu (third round in 2013), cornerback Tharold Simon (fifth round in 2013), safety Jalen Collins (second round in 2015), cornerback Rashard Robinson (third round in 2016), safety Jalen Mills (seventh round in 2016), Donte Jackson (second round in 2018), Greedy Williams (second round in 2019), JaCoby Stevens (sixth round in 2021), Kary Vincent Jr. (seventh round in 2021) and Jay Ward (fourth round in 2023).

CHEVIS
I've posted this before, but I feel like it needs repeating. I like Chevis and I don't want to shite on a former player. But Chevis was fired from Kansas two years ago and Marshall's SoS this year was #83. The pass Defense was mid-50's. He may be an improvement over what just got fired, but if he wasn't a former Tiger everyone here would be PISSED about hiring him. Take away his playing time here and this board would fricking melt hiring his resume.
