Who was the player Cantrelle punched-out on that first day of practice?

Art Cantrelle. Nobody even comes close, even LaRon. AC, I believe, lives down on the MS coast and is, according to rumor, still a crazy-arse, bad mofo at 60 years old.

Agree. Joseph Addai had as much toughness too.

Ricky Blanton in Basketball.

Back in the 60's may have been Sammy Joe Odom. Finished his career at NWSt.

Good call on Vargas, Northern and Cantrelle.........

A couple more bad asses:

Eric Andolsek

Shawn Jordan

I went to school with Eric, Man if you only knew how much of a bad arse he was. He would have that look on Wed. when the game was on friday. Broke more helments then anyone, and played with 2nd degree burns after the field had been chaulked with pure lime.

Artie Cantrelle, one bad mofo.

Warren Capone was tough, but just on the field. Pretty nice guy off.

Definitely on Andolsek (RIP) that was the 1st name that popped into my head when reading this thread. Probably the 1st huge bad-arse O lineman for LSU compared to guys today.

I just want to say, my dad was good friends with Cantrell. I cannot tell begin to explain this guys reputation among guys who grew up fighting and were accostomed themselves to being feared by most. Cantrell was talked about like he was some sort of a superhuman. I wasn't sure if it was all an exaggeration until I shook his hand. Before he introduced himself I knew it had to be him just because of his handshake. (he is famous for breaking men's hands for fun or to prove a point) I am 6'1" and have large hands for my size and have never been "crushed" by a handshake, when I shook his hand the sheer mass of it let me know immediately he was a monster and could have broken my hand with ease if he wanted to. It was like a gorilla's hand, not kidding. He is kind of built like one, heard he never worked out much he was just always built like that. The width of his pinky is like my thumb. You might think it is an exaggeration, it isn't. He didn't break my hand, but when I guessed who he was and he confirmed, I told him, "thanks for not breaking it, I have heard about you" He is a really nice guy now, but when he was younger he was a monster if he had a problem with you. In Sin City when Clive Owen's character is describing how Mickey Rourke's character just came up in the wrong era, and during gladiator times he would have been a God...that is Art Cantrell.

Dont know if he is the baddest but one of the best stories i herd was about Ray Wright. Word on the street is that his old lady worked at a snowball stand in her home town somewhere in Mississippi. Some old man made a sexual comment to her and Ray got pissed. He drove like 2 hours to the guys house, parked his truck, popped the hood and went ask the man for help bc he broke down. when the guy got to his truck to help him be beat the living shite out of him and peaced out.
