About right. I would call that the middle. What they wont tell you, is how your paycheck will be months late........

starting salary does not include incentives, endorsements, anything but salary on the court. couple that with no income taxes in most places and you're living a pretty solid life for somebody in their early 20's.

much better than as a scholarship ncaa player

Dont disagree at all. Had a roomate from LSU do it. The problem was, they frick around with the americans bad. Late on paychecks, paychecks missing money....

The Americans have no skin in the game is how they see it. Arent paying taxes and they can leave at anytime.

i could see that, but if his mom's financial situation was as bad as people made it sound, you gotta do it. sitting around in the ncaa only to not get drafted next year and go to europe is just holding back his career earning potential

Pretty sure the same happened to Quarterman last year. He still made an NBA roster

I feel like he had the potential to show something to get him on an NBA team with a competent coach. Now, that will be extremely hard to do

I just can't believe these kids don't get better advice from ppl. I've been following Blakeney since his sr. Year in HS and the kid seems very bright and very aware of what goes on in his line. He should've known better than to hire an agent.

Sorry to burst your sarcasm.....but that isn't shite and the average career is probably 4 years....

Yes, he is a dumbass for hiring an agent that soon....next year, with better coaching, he would have been invited, at the minimum

Seems to me a lot of guys like him benefit greatly from the NCAA tourney exposure. It's a guard showcase and if he wanted to go first round and get the definate contract he should've come back and played for Wade.

sounds like he was going pro no matter what. easy to sit back and judge from afar as a fan without any real idea what hes going through personally regarding his family and financial needs

Oh yea of course you're right about that but I don't think he's one of these guys who's family lives in horrible conditions. I could be wrong but there was a kid who made a documentary on him while he was in hs and from what I can remember he wasn't in poverty.

Not at all. I know the game a bit. JJ was not a coach focused on fundamental details that translates to guard development. And as the others improved, so does the guard play, naturally.

60 were chosen out of 67....with another year I think it's pretty rational to believe he could crack the top 60 invites.

you would think they'd manage for ONE more year. it probably cost him millions

LOL.. how did you come up with that ?... you do realize only 3 juniors were drafted in the 1st round last year (Dunn was the only one to get signifcant minutes, the other 2 played in 11 games combined).. Scouts have already evaluated him, he is what he is, so he is better off going to work on his game and get professional instruction and be able to do it year round in his attempt to make the NBA

okay i'll remove "bullshite" because he possibly could have been...its still speculation without wade having ever coached a game

Why does everyone assume that blakeney left on his own accord?

CWW probably told him hit the road so that he could change the culture of the team. In order to turn things around as aggressively as Wade wants to you'd need to cut the head off first. This team will look completely different come winter next year. Not saying they'll win but culture, feel, attitude and work ethic will be noticeable.

I imagine interviews went on and will wade felt everyone out to see if they had it in them to be disciplined players.
