My 98.1 rep just dropped off a collection of stuff from the old Alex Box. Its a 12" section of the bleachers from the old Alex Box, with part of the batting cage net, and a disc that contains dirt from the pitchers mound. It is signed by Paul. The disc and batting net are attached to the top of the bleacher with a small plaque that says -

AUTHENTIC BLEACHERS
DIRT
BATTING NET

ALEX BOX STADIUM 1938-2008

Obviously got it for doing advertising, but I was wondering if it was worth anything. Not looking to sell it just interested if it has any value. Also wondering if you received it would you try to get Skip to sign it? I think it would make a great gift.

Does it have value: Yes
How Much: Whatever someone is willing to pay.

It's a nice collection you have, but it isn't going to fetch a high dollar.

Yeah I figured LSU has given out quite a few of these.

This article has the Alex Box auction prices, and the stuff you described sounds like it came from that auction. The prices are probably too high for market value, but it's good for a...ballpark figure. It would definitely make a great gift for an LSU baseball fan.

Bleacher seats from the grandstand of the stadium are available as wall-mounted displays for $199 each. Dirt from the Alex Box Stadium infield is available in an attractive frame with a numbered print depicting the last game in the stadium for $299. A framed photo of an LSU-Tulane game from the final season along with encapsulated dirt is available for $199 and a desktop collectible wood box containing infield dirt can be purchased for $85.

A limited number of framed segments of the backstop net from the stadium suitable for wall-hanging are available for $149 each.

I'm sure someone would pay something for it, albeit a very small market within Louisiana. I'm a tiger fan, but I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it.

There are are alot of things (batting cage signs, locker room signs, seats, and much more lsu baseball advertisments) just laying in the little parking lot btween the long field house and new basketball facility by the dumpster. A lot of it has Smokes pictures on them but still cool stuff. FWIW it was there all summer long and as of last week it still was out there.

Post a pic of everything.
There is a market for it via ebay. The value? that could fluctuate from day to day. It's worth whatever you can get for it at that moment. getting Skips sig would be a nice touch. Hurry though before he drops.

I'm not looking to buy.. It would be a nice gesture to post a picture of the stuff though so people can see what you are speaking about.
It's just a pic.
Asking for pics means nothing on this board, unless someone ask for pics of your gf or wife. In that case they want to wack off to her image...but thats not the case here.so post a pic...PLEASE

I believe the value of these have fallen off quite a bit because when they auctioned the stuff off last year, basically anyone who wanted one and could afford one, bought it.

From what I remember, they had a ton of stuff left over in the warehouse, and they had a huge clearance sale and still didnt move it all.
