They apparently do it big bc of "tradition". When we setup 2 years ago in CS we met another big Aggie tailgate...and they setup with us last year so my plan is to just hang with them all day.

Seeing as you have a ride to the stadium already, when you get there, just walk around and introduce yourself.
Maybe go by the bookstore and get some LSU gear, go see Mike.
We set our tailgate up on the north side of the PMAC, you're welcome to stop by.
Have an awesome time and welcome!

mate, all you need to do is talk.
they hear the accent and you are in.
my first game was miss state after 911,i was blown away and hooked instantly.
at the time it seemed crazy to be going to lsu at 9am for a 7pm kick off.
and make sure you find somewhere that has bucket loads of boudin balls.
the single guys will have a blast
if i had to pick carlton v collingwood at the g or state of origin at lang park or lsu v bama,it would be tiger stadium by a mile.
as long as everyone in your party has the right attitude, you will be treated like royalty.
only advice to help you live through the experience.
stay off the roads as much as possible.
louisiana drivers are fricking useless behind the wheel.

Awesome. Most of us are from Sydney and Melbourne. Sounds like that is the direction we will head. We would def chip in $$ for food and everything as it is well known that no one cooks up better it better than LSU!
my son moved from the states almost ten years ago he has lived in Manly, Avalon and currently lives in Newport. Enjoy your trip.

I am a huge sports fan and watched in 2005 when The Saints beat The Panthers after Hurricane Katrina and loved how it gave the city a huge lift. From there I was hooked as a Saints fan and watched them turn around a 3-13 season and have lots of success since then. When I moved to The US 3 years ago it became clear that College Football was kind of a big deal so needed to find myself a team so of course LSU made sense. The production line of Aussie punters has been cool to watch!

the best piece of tailgating advice one can receive.
Posted on 10/28/14 at 9:25 am to TDTGodfather
CERTAINLY arrive before 1 PM. If you don't take any other advice, take this one. Arrive at 9-10 AM at the absolute latest. You wont regret it.
Posted on 10/28/14 at 9:32 am to NMac
It will be hard for a group as big as yours to find a tailgate spot at 1PM on gameday. It may also be hard to crash a tailgate with 15 people also.
I hope some of the tailgaters that post here invite you to their tailgate. I certainly would if I was there.
Best of luck!
ETA: It looks like someone already invited you. I'd take him up on the offer!

If you plan on doing your own tailgating, by 1:00 pm you'll be out in the boonies, i.e. miles & miles away. If you plan on just walking around, I'd still plan on getting there by 11 at the absolute latest. But to come this far, why not enjoy the entire day as much as possible & get there by 9'ish... realizing staying out on Bourbon St till late mite be a killer. You can always hit Bourbon St. after the Saint's game & get just as much action. No glass bottles or glasses, but beyond that, you can walk & drink all you want. Wear an Aussie shirt & you'll be welcome everywhere. Just, with 15, do bring your own booze if practical. Legally, no booze in the stadium but there are ways, just ask.Do not mess with the cops: they can be pricks if you're drunk & acting stupid. Otherwise, just enjoy the experience of Tiger Stadium and our crazy fans. Suggestion: wear NOTHING red.

WEAR NOTHING RED is good advice. Better than getting there before 1p! lol
Maybe wear your Aussie stuff with an LSU hat. Just sayin.
Lots of good Tiger tailgaters should invite you over from this board. 15 newb LSU fans at the gameday experience for the first time??!?? AUSSOME

you need to plan on getting there around 10am to experience the whole atmosphere and walk around. Just make sure when you come you don't get tied down in one spot too long. Try to experience as much as possible.
