Yeah, Franklin, TN OR Baton Rouge, La

Love it up in that area. Isn't the property value in that area Top 5 in Country?

isnt Meatball the new DL?
yes, but instead of recruiting for him the point I was making is that as of Jan 9th there will be a 10th coaching spot that he could recruit for. Possibly.

Once Pete's retirement is official, as whitefoot was pointing out, since Meatball is "moving over" we still have an empty spot for a recruiter anyway. Pete is not eligible for recruiting... Pete leaves... nothing changes. That means AT can keep recruiting until new hire. Technically, we'll be hiring 2 (Meatball's former spot & 10th). Then, as of Jan 9th, another separate spot opens up. Which this is all somewhat moot. Dead period starts for bowl season Dec 18th. Btw, opens back up Jan 11th, 2 days after 10th coach is eligible.

And look at it this way, regarding his value being decreased if he's not recruiting anymore.

Maybe, in his eyes, LSU is less valuable since he won't be recruiting. The most valuable spot (UT?), to him, is the school that will keep him recruiting. It's the reverse of what most perceive.

I can't see it being top 5. come areas around Brentwood and Nashville are very high but most of Franklin is quite affordable (relatively speaking of course). there is no state income tax and the property taxes are low as shite, about a fourth of what I pay here. I really miss living there and go back 6 or 7 times a year. fate brought me to tejas and the quality of life here is not that high.

His first statement is fact. Second statement about Alleva and FKing running the program into the ground is educated opinion.

Tennessee is not hiring Austin Thomas.
They are hiring Todd Watson in that position. I swear some of you are just stupid.

he's almost assuredly not going to be allowed to recruit at UT

AT recruiting was a freak occurrence last year and it's criminal that he was allowed to recruit for LSU this year. we got lucky by a stupid decision by the NCAA in allowing O to sign an ancient positional coach so that AT could recruit for him. in terms of NCAA legality, it's borderline terrible (objectively) that AT was given a waiver this year to recruit

You ever heard that expression, "Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones"? I hope you're right about Thomas staying, but I'm afraid you're completely wrong about Todd Watson having any impact on a potential Thomas hiring.

I disagree. The NCAA doesn't care about the title, they only care about notification/acknowledgement that the recruiter is operating under normal coaches rules and, that the coach whose position is being "used" indeed is not participating in off campus recruiting. You better document it right, they will be watching. But as long as only 9 names are doing the off campus all following the set rules, they don't care.

What they did put a stop to, years ago, was allowing 1 coach to recruit for 2, especially HC. Used to if there was an open slot the HC would "file" as that position coach also, giving him the same number of visits that other coaches had.

Not just that, but UT is not the only school that has made an attempt to get him. He currently has two other offers outstanding so it's not like this can be put to rest.

Why do you miss him? You use common sense and are objective on this board. He is one of the biggest tools on this board.

This is false. There is a specific bylaw that addresses the temporary “replacement” of countable coaches and their duties as the result of extenuating circumstances. We were fortunate to get this waiver for over a calendar year as Jenkins apparently had no problem coaching or traveling for games, but had some type of issue that prevents him from traveling to recruit. Obviously the issue is he is too old to be an adequate recruiter, but we were able to make up something that sounds reasonable enough to pass. It’s unlikely we’ll get away with it again on the next hire.
