Coach Nader is the backbone of the LSU Football program. He has positively affected more student athletes' lives, not just football players, than people the average TD poster has ever met in their lifetime.

He is the most knowledgeable person in the entire athletics department when it comes to recruiting, recruiting events coordination + executi9n, recruiting rules interpretation + implementation, & more.

To the ignorant moron who claims a competent secretary could do his job; if you believe that then you have 0 clue what it takes to plan, schedule, coordinate, staff, train, & maintain records for such an endeavor for a program of LSU's station in the NCAA world. The amount of moving parts for a clinic or camp, for coaches or players or both, is enough to crack even the most organized of regular people. Any hint of a violation falls squarely on the shoulders of the person in Coach Nader's role for the multiple events hosted in a given year, including all official visits. To date, he's had exactly 0 violations, let alone not a single report of even a shade of a potential violation.

On top of that, he selflessly gives his time to LSU FCA & has done so for over 25 years.

Anyone that disrespect a man like Coach Nader on here needs to have a notation on their user name so other posters can realize just how idiotic they truly are so that future posts are ignored accordingly.

Sam Nadar is one of the finest human beings to ever work for LSU. If he is retiring, I’m so happy for him. Great Great Man

He and Ensminger are cut from the same cloth.

Hopefully he’s humbled a bit since originally leaving LSU.

So you know better than Football scoop? Who knew we had so many cfb insiders on this site. You guys should start websites with your inside info and put Football scoop out of business. It must be Thomas himself at Football scoop behind the keyboard.

Could give two shits about AT. I just think its hilarious people on this board are so convinced he is worthless with zero evidence of this. Meanwhile he has never had any issues finding a job with good football programs. Clearly he must be valuable.

Yea they want Austin Thomas to replace Nader even though he is so worthless and he has had so many jobs over the last few years. Lol

If Football scoop is saying a NFL team was looking at him as a GM, yes I do. But that's not what they said
quote:

He’s also been on the radar of a number of NFL teams in recent years

That doesn't mean he had NFL GM interest like you seem to think. Some interest in a player personnel role would make sense because that's actually what he does.

BAYLOR WEBSITE

Baylor Sr. Associate AD for Football

One of the top personnel managers in all of college football, Thomas also held off-the-field roles at USC and Tennessee. He has worked closely with NFL personnel at each of his stop in college football to maximize the opportunity for his program's student-athletes at the next level.

In Thomas' first two seasons at LSU, he helped the Tigers claim back-to-back top five signing classes in 2014 and 2015, which included signing the nation's top overall player in 2014. He was named the Personnel Director of the Year in 2015 and a finalist for the award in 2014.

Yea he does sound pretty useless.

Austin Thomas has officially been hired as the Associated Athletic Director for Football Personnel.

Thomas spent the past five seasons as the General Manager at LSU. In his early 30's, he has earned a reputation as one of the future stars of the business and had a handing in the Tigers landing some of the top talent in the country recently.

"The casual college football fan doesn't know Thomas," 247Sports' Barton Simmons recently wrote. The fanatical LSU fan does. His official title is General Manager. But even the LSU hardcores don't really know what that means. They just know he's important.

"The General Manager tag that accompanies Thomas' position is a valiant effort at corralling his responsibilities into one title but it still fails. At varying points during my day with Austin at LSU any of the following would have been apt descriptors: Director of Player Personnel, Position Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, Associate Athletic Director, Assistant to the Head Coach, Graduate Assistant and more."

quote:

"While he's also negotiating assistant coaching contracts, dealing with personnel issues, making video cut-ups and presentations for team meetings, coordinating with the coaches to fill out the players' calendar within the 20 hours per week rule and a host of other duties, quite exactly, Thomas is managing the LSU football building," Simmons wrote.

Ed Orgeron worked with Thomas at both USC and LSU and thinks very highly of the new Aggie hire.

"Austin I believe one day will be an NFL General Manager," Orgeron told Simmons. "He's very talented. He's the general manager. I trust him in all aspects. He can have the keys to the car. I trust him in everything that he does."

When he was at LSU everyone said he was a personnel genius. When he left everyone said he was overhyped and not worth it. Which one is it?

Correct.

Austin Thomas was the Devil after leaving LSU for Tennessee, then it all fell through with the Vols and everybody laughed.

This board is full of Bi-Polar Ultra Nerd Geeks that flip flop mentally. (See Scoreboard football in-game thread)

Up and down. All over the place. Mentally unstable.

They don't know what to do with themselves and the only cure would be a good dose of P-Tang, but that aint close to happening for most Ranters.

The only thing that makes "IT" move are male LSU athletes.

Austin Thomas does one day (Makes it Move) and doesn't the next.

I agree I dont think Football scoop meant he was being looked at for an NFL GM position. I quoted just what Football scoop said that he had NFL GM interest. I agree I think they meant NFL GM's were looking at him for positions.

quote:

Thomas, 30, is a lifelong recruitnik who watches film on 2,500 prospects per cycle and, together with recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson, maintains and manages LSU’s extensive recruiting database. He organizes recruiting events and visits and crunches scholarship numbers. He administers multimedia recruiting tools like LesMiles.net, the Miles Method iPad app, and LSU’s digital recruiting board. He culls and collects the pieces for Les Miles and his staff and helps assemble them into highly-rated classes that will one day compete for national championships

Prob all just a bunch or propaganda to keep an unqualified glorified secretary getting jobs.

Why do you keep posting articles from sources that are paid to fluff up his resume? Should I go ahead and post Pelini’s bio from lsusports.net? AT’s problem isn’t that he’s worthless, his problem was/is he’s always overestimated his worth, which is why Tennessee told him to take a hike so quickly. He tried to step outside the lane of what his job actually is. And one of the previous posters is 100% correct that having 7 jobs in 7 years is a red flag.
