Currently Sam Leavitt is the Auburn version of Bo Nix. An athletic guy who feels more comfortable taking off with his legs than he is winning from the pocket. He needs to work on using his legs to buy time while continuing to look for receivers downfield instead of trying to make the big play with his legs every single play. His run first tendencies are causing his footwork to get awful at times leading to his inaccuracy.

Sadly that’s a great comparison. Now the overall team is better than those Auburn teams but it’s still depressing to think that we basically have Bo Nix running the offense for us.

Leavitt seems to have a low football IQ. He also has no concept of passing lanes, he probably leads the nation in passes batted down, and he's 6'2"? He's not a starting QB if he couldn't run.

It took time but Nix turned into a pretty good college qb and is now a NFL qb. Hopefully the same light gets cut on for leavitt.

That's exactly how Nix was a Auburn. Remember all the picks he threw & his inaccurate passes? He tried to make up for it by always using his legs. Hopefully that can be coached out of him because his physical talent is off the charts good.

And that's what Leavitt did game 1 against Clemson.

Maybe so but with the money they are making off of NIL they can’t just waste a year to hopefully be a better passer next year.

His transformation at Oregon was like night & day. We have to hope the same happens with Leavitt eventually.
