I knew Auburn was having problems as a team in general. But wow I did not know it was that bad.

Their offense has 2 passing TD's this year. 1 to a TE and 1 to a RB. They have thrown 6 interceptions.

We may goose egg them, because our defense is very very real .

31-0 LSU, Geaux Tigers

LSU better be ready. All Auburn is hearing all week is how bad they are and no offense or defense, coach is on the chopping block etc. etc. Playing at Auburn is never easy for LSU especially at night. This will be a hard fought game for 4 quarters and LSU better have their "A" game. This is also the 1st away game for LSU in a very hostile environment. LSU needs to get ahead early and get the crowd out of the game then unload the defense on them all night. This will come down to who has the ball last will win. I expect the Tigers to outlast Auburn. We get stronger as the game progresses. Auburn does not.

This is a real test for BK and co. It's easy to get the team focused when taking on a difficult opponent. Getting them motivated to bring it vs a lesser team is a challenge. I have a feeling Kelly will have them locked in.

LSU will still have to show up and play well, but should win easily.

teams in the position that auburn is in will play this game the way which it starts. if LSU can generate some points early in the game, this can be a a$$ whipping. you play too close to the vest, this auburn team has nothing to lose and can start to believe as will that crowd.

hopefully Denbrock has a game plan that can lead to early success. House will have this defense ready for the gimmicks that are undoubtedly coming.

This statement above is what concerns me most. Auburn might well come in motivated with an amped up crowd. LSU will need to be ready to take some early shots to the jaw and respond.

I think it may be close at half but BK will make halftime adjustments and LSU pulls away in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

This does feel like the 09 Auburn game.

Had JJ9 at QB, didn’t matter. Just rolled them.

I agree, they aren't that good.

All I will say though is that an ugly game like the Mizzou one is usually a wake up call, just like FSU was in some ways for us.

Don't expect them to make all the same mistakes. Now I have no doubt in my mind that Harsin & his staff are no where as good as CBK and his staff so their progression won't be that great.

But they will try and correct a lot of that, especially on offense and more than likely adjust to use what strengths they have against what weaknesses they have seen in our film. And we will have to (and will) adjust to that in-game.

We've been weak on the edges at times, so they will use Ashford and the RBs there with Ward out. They will test the middle with no Smith, but we've been stout there.

We've not been very successful downfield in the passing game so they will probably challenge us closer to the LoS unless we go downfield on them, successfully, hoping to get into a slug fest to minimize the talent advantage we have at WR vs. their back 7.

So the 30 point beat down at home by Penn state wasn’t a wake up call? Got it

LSU sure as hell better come in motivated if they have any pride. Auburn kicked our arse in JH 2 years ago and then we followed it up by shitting the bed against them at home last year when they weren’t even good. This is one of the games I want to win the most.

No doubt. 1st SEC road game—hell, the 1st road game of Kelly’s tenure at one of the toughest road atmosphere’s in the league. Every single LSU player I’ve ever talked to, has said the 2 toughest places to play in the SEC were Auburn and Florida and it wasn’t particularly close (granted, they all played at Bama before Saban has them rolling, but I think the biggest hurdle to playing at Bryant Denney these days is the opponent much more than the crowd). Auburn and Florida have rabid fans bases, but so do most SEC schools—I think it’s the acoustics of how Jordan Hare and the Swamp are built. And it’s why I thought it was crazy that we had a lot of fans—still do—that just chalk these games up as wins. We could certainly win both games, but that would be a big accomplishment, no matter how good or bad you may think those teams are. So this:

It's easy to get the team focused when taking on a difficult opponent. Getting them motivated to bring it vs a lesser team is a challenge.

is ridiculous. If the team is going into this game thinking of Auburn as a “lesser team,” then Kelly has already failed and we could easily come out of Saturday with a loss. But I don’t think he’s as dumb as you apparently are. I can’t comprehend a world where our guys have trouble being motivated to go play a nationally televised night game at a 3-1 Auburn, no matter how bad they might have looked in those 4 games. I love how much we’ve improved—it’s been very impressive—but we’re not who you seemingly think we are. We could easily lose any of our 7 remaining SEC games if we’re not prepared. There are zero auto wins in our SEC slate.

You can't tell the younger generation this.. they know everything. They think games are won on paper. Auburn has talent. We need to punch them in the mouth early and often, take the crowd out as you say, and don't take the foot off the gas.

Don’t bet on rolling into the plains and blowing them out. The history of this game says otherwise and the history of playing a football game in the state of Alabama, well let’s just say we won’t get any breaks.

The Auburn fan base has very little belief or faith in this team and coaching staff. If we can get a couple of big plays early the crowd will be done
