oh ok so nothing that you can really prove

look, I hope you're right. Obviously the win was good. But you're acting as though LSU looked good vs UF, when it was plainly a sloppy arse win.

I will agree AU isn't all that

Any team that can lose to TROY can EASILY be blown out by Auburn.

Let's look at the Transitive Property Of Football. Tigers lost @ Miss St by 30. (On a neutral field that's maybe 27). Miss. St lost @ Auburn by 39 (neutral field that's 36). So in a normal contest on a neutral field Auburn beats LSU by 53. Giving the Tigers 3 points for HFA, that's still a 7+ touchdown margin of defeat for LSU!

So the number 2 team in the country and the team that arse raped us a month ago

Why the frick does it matter how many points we won by?

uh, because it's most often (but not always) an accurate indicator of how much better the winning team is.

Yes, a win is a win in the record books. But I'd feel much better if we beat Florida by two touchdowns and outgained them 2:1. That would show that we're a lot better than them and I'd have more faith in our chances the rest of the year.

But a statistically even game, with a 1-point victory on a missed extra point? That tells me LSU and UF are about even. And I think we can all agree that Florida isn't good.

LSU beat a team starting a true freshman by 1 point. LSU is not good this year.

Based on their résumé I guess? They're top 10 in talent as well as LSU.

Wait we have talent now? I can't keep up

They shut the offense down in the second half. They were draining the clock dude. C'mon.

If you can't see that this team and program is now drastically different from where it was in September then I don't know what to say. Do y'all not remember 2014?

This team lost to troy 10 days ago. There's no way we are drastically different in 10 days.

news flash- LSU had intensity and heart vs MSU until their teeth were kicked in.

you're ignoring some very glaring issues that have been apparent all year, including in the very good win vs UF.

LSU may be better- but they aren't very good, period.

I don't see it... and I WANT to. I can't even bias my way to it.

The word "drastically" should not be there.

They are different, it isn't the same team that had players quit on the field in Starkvegas. Thank you D. White and other player-leaders.

But drastically? I still see many issues either holding constant, or in a few select cases getting worse.

I've seen the same fundamental problems some players, and units, have come up again and again. I'm seeing new problems arise, such as the ever-present threat of depth on the OL coming to fruition.

I've seen some problems get addressed to varying degrees of success such as penalties (high-degree) to WRs (to a much lesser degree). And there's a few more.

But nothing drastic.

As long as they play with pride and like there is something to achieve, then I expect the coaching to kick in and see further improvement. But that is simultaneously BOTH my MINIMUM and REALISTIC expectations for the team based on what I see.

ETA: oh, and AU has improved game over game in almost all areas. That SHOULD be the minimum expectation. We shall see how good they are.... later. They will be saying the same stuff some on here are if they win: "we beat a shite LSU team, let's see how we do against UGA before we extend Malzahn's contract"

I disagree wholeheartedly. They got manhandled on both lines of scrimmage from the start.

I'm not. All I'm saying is that Auburn isn't as good as a lot of you think.

I never said that LSU was. All I'm saying is that they're better than where they were a few weeks ago and it was good enough to take down the Gators in the Swamp.
