Whoever is responsible for us continuing to TRY and run the option should be fired. I have NEVER seen it run worse than JJ runs it.Never, not ever. And if the responsible party can't come up with a better play considering our skilled players then they should be beaten then fired.

Crowton all the sudden becomes a bad OC? Do you forget the National Champ season? He made people look stupid, Jim Tresses actually said after the game LSU was the hardest team he ever had to prepare for. Nope, I see the hand of Les Miles all over this offense. I also agree the OL is a major problem, when you can't block three guys on a pass rush that is not the cooridnater. JJ looks mentally lost, but LSU has no one else.

Russel Shepard ran it well earlier in the season. He kept it instead of pitching it to holliday and had a nice gain.

Look, I'm willing to give Crowton a whole lot of slack because of what he did for us in 2007, but come on, he's obviously fallen on his face so far this season, and needs to come up with something new if he wants to stay on the staff in coming years.

Wow, this is ridiculously accurate. It scares me to think about what level of offensive productivity (or lack thereof) is in front of us this season. If things remain the same, Miles will have absolutely no choice but to ax Crowton in December - it's beyond unacceptable at this point.

Here is my previous post from a few weeks back on Crowton's history with QBs and his offense shitting the bed in years 2 and beyond at most places:
In reality, I think Crowton is a great OC. His playcalling can be amazing and so creative that its almost impossible to defend. See VT and OSU in 2007. I think, however, that his weakness is he is mediocre to bad as a QB coach. Everywhere he's had great success, it has been with QBs that were there a year or more before he arrived. This means they got QB coaching prior to him there.
Rattay was a Sophomore at least and had some QB coaching before Crowton. He left after 1998.
In the NFL with the Bears, he had several veteran QBs.
At BYU,returned a key starter in QB Doman and had Luke Staley. Once they left, team went downhill and losing seasons.
At Oregon, took over with a senior QB that was great in Kellen Clemens (an NFL QB this year), and then struggled the next year when Dixon started at QB fighting with Leaf.
Came to LSU and took over a 5th year SR QB in Matt Flynn and 3rd year So QB in RP. The team did amazing and although Flynn played consistently, he didn't really develop as the year went on.
Now, my point here is that when he has experienced QBs (before he gets to a team), Crowton's offenses are amazing. When he's needed to play young QBs or QBs he has been the developer for, the team has struggled and the QBs played poorly.
In the end, we should've hired a QB coach instead of a TE coach last off-season.

Nice man, thanks.
I think I'll be the first to say it:
Get Crowton the frick out of here please before he does more damage.

I want to throw up. It's like LSU has been infected with a disease.
This guy is dead on about Crowton.
And guess what, no way Miles ever gives up Croton 'till the team gets a losing record.
I'm sick, just flat out sick.
Those Bears' games where he threw the WR bubble screen 20 times a game for no yardage or loss of yards.
Yikes.............

As an Oregon fan I can say the biggest problem that I had with Crowton was his inability to design plays to get to the playmakers on the team. He had a set group of plays he liked to call, and he would call them no matter what. He couldn’t seem to recognize a players strength, and adjust his play calling to match.

The truth is Gary Crowton has a good offense. But smart teams are going to figure it out. Guess who was coaching Utah when BYU went scoreless in 2003-Urban Meyer. Most of the coaches in the SEC are almost as smart as Urban and they will shut down LSU’s offense. LSU has great athletes and he will find a way to make them look bad.

this is truly sad. I was so angry last night i thought i was going to have a heartattack. Then i found myself unable to stop laughing.
can we chip in for a new OC??? Seriously. For what we paid for florida tickets we should be able to buy him out.
get him the frick out of here.
