Smoke in mirrors are important

He’s offense works when you execute it but we looked like we had no clue most of the year.

We looked nothing like the Pitt offense he ran in 2016.

Ask yourself if you'd rather have Canada or Ensminger? The obvious answer is Ensminger. If it's Canada get your head examined.

If it was that obvious, I guess Orgeron should've had his head examined a while ago.

The Canada experiment failed. The jury’s out on Ensminger. I like what he’s said, but it’s all talk until September.

I like conceptually what Ensminger wants to do with the offense, but until we see how well it's implemented that's a ridiculous statement.

I don't get why people insist on comparing our current coaches to the standards of the coaches that we just got rid of. We should expect much more than that.

Athlon drinks his own bath water. Does not mean a damn thing. In fact Mike Locksley the new Alabama OC Career Record for 4 Years, is 3-31, with a .088 Win%. So Athlon would have to think the Gumps would lose every game. I did not like Canada. That flash in the pan crap would not have lasted in the SEC. You have to play smash mouth football in the SEC. Ensminger at least played in the SEC for the Tigers, he bleeds purple and gold and in fact I think when he stepped in after Miles was fired, did pretty well stats wise.
He understands what it takes to win in the SEC, especially the SEC West. I'm anxious to see what he can do..

I didn't make the fricking comparison I commented on it.get with the OP. To the other poster why would a comparison be ridiculous?

Why? He’s their OC not their HC.

Head coaching records don't have anything to do with success as a coordinator.

We were far more run-heavy than Orgeron likely wanted. Our run/pass ratio vs Florida was 75/25.

“Wasn’t very good at LSU”

The problem is, who is responsible? Canada or coach O?I think we all are aware that Coach O put his hands on the offense. What, if anything , that played in the offense production we probably won’t know until mid season or so.

“He is at his fourth school in four years.”

Well, to be fair, LSU hired him away from one school and then fired him necessitating that you go to another school.

When you have an offensef production problem that has the fans in an uproar and you try to fix that problem by hiring a D line coach as your HC, things might not go right at 1st. Go figure

The ranking of the hires is going to be predicated on the school that hired them. Matt Canada to Maryland is a good hire, 17th best last year. Matt Canada hired at another SEC school would be a questionable pick. His misdirection worked better in leagues with lesser defenses than what the SEC has.

His Miss direction worked fine against Clemson who has a pretty solid defense

We had major problems running it.

I bet Orgeron feels the same way. Wondering why he hired Canada. Such a mistake. But thats history.

There was considerable turnover in the SEC last year. How many SEC openings did Canada interview for?

ETA: How many ACC openings did he interview for?

Agree totally. I just want E to do his job well and score more points than the other team.

I dont dent that hisnyear at LSU hurt his stock

But our team has serious execution problems.

To say his system just doesn’t work when we could barely run is a leap.

His system is awesome, but I dont think its meant for SEC football. We were horrible at execution. Canada is gone, and we are looking forward now. Hopefully to better offensive football.
