Athletic programs to support in lieu of LSU

I live in close proximity to WCU. That would be your fighting Catamounts of Western Carolina University. Located in beautiful Cullowhee(sometimes referred to as Culloweed in certain company), the purple and gold fighting catamounts have a long history of both academic and athletic success. Catamounts are represented in all professional sports leagues, including by former World Series Champion Greg Holland.
The university itself was established in 1889, when the residents of Cullowhee wanted a better education for its residents of the time. Much of the university is located on Cherokee land, and the tribe plays a large role in financing the expanding campus. With an endowment of just under $67 Million, it is clear the fighting Catamounts need our help.
Reasons to support:
Their purple and gold colors
No Joe Alleva
No F King Alexander
Playboy named them an honorable mention for best party school in America
Competing in the Southern Conference leads to fair competition without negative influence and bias from outside sources
Their band is one of the best in the country, routinely being invited to perform at various events and the administration lets them play neck
So, join me as I welcome the Fighting Catamounts of WCU into your fandom. I look forwarding to getting really high with you all August 31st when our Fighting Catamounts face off against Mercer!

My nephew will be playing for ULM next year so I have an easy choice.

I’m all in on Kansas if LSU athletics burns down.

That is one heck of a lovely location, from the photograph. And that band looks tight, as well. Nice call.
I am all about done with LSU emotionally, as well. I DO want the Tigers to win-out and in pressers after every game, take shots at Dickie V., Pat Forde, Joe, King, and whoever else. Full-on, here's the truth from OUR perspective.
Pipe dream, of course, but hey.

The photos dont truly do it justice. Beautiful campus and the surrounding area is tough to beat. Some of the best trout fishing in the country, GSMNP within a 30 minute drive, Blue Ridge Parkway practically on its door step.
My wife got her bachelors degree from WCU and it is always fun going to "tailgate." It reminds me a little of LSU in the 90's. Low expectations so everyone is there to party and cook food.

I'm gung ho for the Baylor Bears. They're reconstructing their football program after the Art Briles debacle, and their men's and women's basketball programs have a long tradition of excellence. Also they have one of the more upbeat and inspiring fight songs ("Old Fite") of any college in the nation.
Family ties to Baylor as well: that's the alma mater of the more right-leaning branch of my family.
