Can we take a moment to acknowledge how bad the athletic department has handled things lately? I mean we kick off in 18 days and not even a peep as to what attendance or tailgating will look like. It’s almost as if they don’t even give a shite (which wouldn’t shock me if that’s the case). People need to know what’s going so we can make plans! This is absurd!

The presumptions are impressive. Walk a mile in their shoes....

I would say it's out of their hands...they're being held hostage by JBE.

This is so dumb.

I drive about 10 hours to each game.
Hotels are booked.
I can cancel them up to the day before with no charge.

Worst case is I stay home and save money.

Best case. Well lets see... i keep my rsvp. Go to liquor stores to bring booze to tailgate and hang out with friends and family.

If you live in or around LSU your ability to adjust is even easier.

I say let the AD sit longer if it means more ppl can go.

Can you acknowledge how impatient you are? They are trying to get things right and get as many people in as possible. Relax Francis.

At this point, it's not about losing money, it's about how much money they will lose.
The good thing about Tiger Stadium is it is large enough with all the upper deck seating to fit more people in the stadium while social distancing.
With that said, if the idiots who want to ruin it all by showing up just to tailgate need to keep their a** at home in order to make this work.
It's one thing to spread out 25000-30000 in tiger stadium but if you have another 30000 show up to tailgate, I don't think the campus can handle that.

If you were leading a program as large as LSU during the most "visible" time in school history, would you be inclined to "go first" and make a knee jerk decision or sit back and wait and see what everybody else does and get it right? Scott Woodward is no dummy. He's going to wait as long as he can. I don't blame him.

How does this affect the players or fans in the stadium? People are outdoors, not bothering you... I see no issue. I choose to tailgate!

You can PLAN to grow a pair! You're probably one who PLANS to leave early in the 3rd quarter to avoid traffic.

It is not their fault. They have to wait until the state announces that we are going in to phase 3 , which I hope will be today. They know exactly what they are going to do. They just can't make the announcement ahead of the governor. Now, if the announcement does not come in the next day or two, I will be upset.

Do you not get it, its about limiting crowds in all aspects of gameday.
Tailgating would be the worse thing to allow as large groups will congregate which is exactly what they are trying to avoid.

Then they will shut it down for everyone, no fans in attendance at all.

There won’t be any tailgating. They are cracking the whip on students who gather in groups that exceed 10. No way they slow tailgating.

I’m driving several hours one way for a game. I have other things I like to do if I don’t go to an LSU game. Excuse me if I’d like to make plans for the next 3 months more than a week ahead of the first potential game.

Athletic Dept has done a great job in the face of tremendous obstacles that Covid-19 has presented. Yes we will have a season of some form...but will we have a season after this year..Post National Championship the fund raising dollars should be at an all time high...now fund raising sits at 12% of its goal and we will be in the red big time this football season ...AD has a big challenge in coming years keeping ours sports programs operating..

It is always better to let people think you are an idiot rather than open your mouth and confirm it.

By that I mean it's better to wait it out on the off chance they can go way beyond what was initially thought.

The other option is to err to the side of caution, make different assumptions, and do it early... and do stupid things like the B1G.

If they state what they are going to do early, they are locked into it. You have to have a "safety assurance" to back track. If you hold off on that first statement, you do have to justify it but you do not have to prove things have improved to crawfish.

It's the difference between being boxed in (like the B1G/PAC-12) and having options without needing political/scientific capital to take those options.

Put it this way, for the B1G to crawfish they now have to prove the initial concern, myocarditis, is no longer an issue which means proving the negative. We don't want to be in a similar box.

But, time is indeed running out. But I wouldn't hold it against them for waiting until the very last moment possible.
