Is playing Utah State at 11 am really that big a deal in the grand scheme of things?

This is the perfect game to have early in the day.

Oh what, are people gonna leave Tiger Stadium midway through he third quarter because of the early start?

It’s not.

The point is that it is a reflective of repeated behavior of poor treatment from the conference office. We get treated like second class citizens despite being founding members.

Instantly our previous agreement gets torn apart because bama writes a letter that was laughed at nationwide. What still ends up happening? LSU gets the short end of the stick

We constantly get a plate of crap served to us by the SEC. once again bama complains and the sec reneges on our deal for more night games

Tamu moves to the conference “oh LSU your fans will be inconvenienced and play on thanksgiving day”

Bama you want to a week off by playing Tennessee ok LSU you play Florida

I believe the sec apologized to Kentucky about our basketball game while the sec office backed the devin white travesty

Officiating is terrible

I’m not saying we should leave but I wouldn’t mind setting up some meetings

Its Alleva's fault. No way this would happen if Woodward was our AD.

Oh wait. Never mind. Maybe, just maybe, its outside of our control and due to contractual tv obligations, from which we derive revenue, we are going to have periodic day games.

I don't understand the mindset of complaining about perceived inequities in the SEC and then seeing the remedy as going to another conference to abuse the same inequeties but with us as the beneficiary. If it's unequal, it's bad. Doesn't matter where. The SEC does a better job than every other conference in trying to keep a level playing field. I do agree that LSU has been hosed several times on issues that matter to us, but the stuff that really counts in the end is pretty well-managed in the SEC compared to others. The money-sharing from bowls and TV deals in the SEC literally set the standard for other conferences. The Big 12's unwillingness to share finances in a similar way nearly completely killed the conference and directly led to the departures of Missouri and Texas A&M. Our officiating (I know many won't agree) has actually been evaluated by neutral third parties and over the course of a full season grades out as the best officiating among the Power 5 conferences. Ask Ole Miss how they enjoyed that Pac 12 crew last week.

Yes, there are times when we seem to get jobbed, and it gets compounded by the South Louisiana bullcrap when you add the Saints' recent officiating woes, but the sky really isn't falling in the SEC. The office is not out to hold down LSU. I think a successful LSU makes the SEC very, very happy. Everyone needs to chill a bit and really look around at other conferences before assuming that jumping is the best option.

I'd much rather LSU be in the Big 12 or ACC.

I don't give a shite about the SEC. I'm an LSU fan, not an SEC fan. All of the other schools in the conference could cease to exist for all I care.

The fact is that if we were in the Big 12 or ACC we would have an easier path to the playoff and wouldn't get boned by the conference office like we do now.

Sure if you be honest and say that this isn’t the first time that LSU has gotten the short end of the stick because insert opponent here makes one silly complaint.

It’s not even just bama. Tamu wants to play on thanksgiving-guess who the conference gets to do that? Us.

Not even Arkansas who was their actual former conference foe.

Sure. But thousands more would go if it was at night. The local businesses in BR would make a lot more money than they will now. The LSU football experience is more than just the 3-4 hours in the stadium (or 1-2 hours for the people you're referencing ).

LSU isn’t getting hosed by Bama. Hell I don’t even think Bama is playing that week.

It’s a non conference game against a shite rent a win opponent.

They aren’t putting that in prime time over other in conference matchups. No matter how bad we think those matchups are.

Stop acting like babies and enjoy the early game then maybe even enjoy the evening without sweating a game.

Oh yes there is no ability of the conference to work things out with the tv providers

quote:

Fortunately, commissioner (Mike) Slive agreed and he started conversations with ESPN and CBS where we will play I think the preponderance of our games at night.

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that the first non conference game for us after bama complains gets scheduled at 11am. Nothing to see here

The Atchafalaya Conference

Why do you ignore that we had an agreement with the SEC and the tv providers being just that-our non conference shite opponents would be during the night. Even if it meant being espnu rather than espn/espn 2 at 11am

Saying there is no bias for Alabama is absurd, but the money is too good to leave. No decision-maker at LSU would support leaving. No one.

The NCAA is for entertainment purposes (and making gobs and gobs of money) only. Anyone who actually thinks that any of it represents free and open i.e. rules based, competition is delusional.

If it is good for the SEC/NCAA for 'Bama to have an advantage, you can bet the rent money that that is what will happen.

What do you base this statement on?

The fact that the SEC offices are located in Birmingham? That the head of officials for the conference is an Alabama alumnus? That based on their own rules in place, he would be unable to call games that directly involved BAMA, but it's ok for him to oversee the ENTIRE conference?

Is it that the baseball conference championships are held in Hoover, Alabama?

Is it that we cater to 4 teams (BAMA, AU, TENN and UGA) when it comes to creating our football schedule so as to keep them involved in their long standing rivalries but not simply place them in the same damn division to enable it?

What exactly does the SEC do that seems to indicate they play fair with all programs?

HammerheadLincoln I guess you would rather go to a second rate conference just to win. I guess you believe in participation trophies also. Nothing comes easy if you want to be the best you have to beat the Best. That's why we should and will stay in the SEC !

And what does this have to do with the SEC?

ETA: Our fanbase has to be the most dramatic group of fans in the country.
