Arkansas - 70
Auburn - 59

Miss State - 27
LSU - 10

Only 1 of those teams got shut out.

LSU has been shutout twice.

Does this mean all those teams are better than LSU?

From my other post...
quote:

Such a snowflake mentality. Your egos are so fragile that you refuse to get your hopes up and risk being disappointed again. You envy the optimists and how much fun they are having so your only hope is that the team fails so at least in the end you can be right.

Its true, we will not know for sure until we see it. We may end up being disappointed. But if you look at all of the current evidence objectively rather than dwelling on the past, it is a much better bet that our offense will be different this year than the same, and the doubters will look sort of dumb in retrospect.

It will be OK either way. If the offense does improve, the skeptics and negatigers will be happy too and only regret that they missed the bandwagon. If the offense is the same, it will be surprising and disappointing AGAIN, but life will go on.

So what you're saying is not concentrate on beating Alabama, the best team in the conference, but put all the energy into beating everyone else?

Say LSU beats Alabama the past 3 years.

Heres their finish...

2016
9-3

2017
10-3

2018
11-2

quote:

Sounds like a losers plan. Clemson did it just the opposite of what you suggest.

Clemson plays in the ACC. They are going to coast to the CFP every year and can focus on those teams they are most likely to see there.

Besides, thats a non-sequitar anyway.

And even with our offensive deficiencies we have been better than those teams year in and year out. Any offensive improvement will pay huge dividends.

Thats fair but thats not true of me.

Im robotic. My emotions dont dictate my decisions. I let the facts and logic direct my emotion and opinions.

This is where we disagree. I think the current evidence points a greatly improved but still not spectacular offense.

Not really. Ill enjoy it while its taking place as well as after. Theres nothing wrong with that. I dont need to experience all the joy ahead of time for an experience that may never materialize then be frustrated and disappointed. Id rather just wait until it happens and then be assured happiness.

Good reasonable post, though.

Wow Pot! U post on a subject that has been beaten to death with nothing new or insightful at all the get your feelings hurt when u get called on it. We all now what LSU has done or not done vs. the gumps since 2012. They treat this game like a championship game and LSU hasn’t thrown anything different at them in years no shot. Now we hear and hope things will change. The same people who start these threads are like the players who get to wound up to stay in the moment. It’s a damn game try to enjoy it.

Answer to what? He's never been a college offensive coach before. He's in fir a rude awakening in the SEC.

Ehh. Maybe, maybe not.

I think the hope here is that hes learned under one of the best offensive minds in all of football and that he can impart some of that in LSUs offense.

I'll allow this.

But even the Gumps have an increase in intensity level when they play us. If they say they don't, they're lyin'.

It means that those others teams dont have LSUs defense and wish they did, while LSU wishes they had those other teams offenses.

Everybody in the nation sees it. Thats why its often said, "if LSU only had an offense".

LSUs offensive staff be like -

And thats why so many LSU fans have been so frustrated. The finish line is right there if LSU would just fricking dive forward(no pun). "(LSUs) sitting on a winning lottery ticket and (they're) too big of a pussy to cash it in."

You are correct, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a wait and see approach.

However, there is something wrong with the people that are taking the "wait and see and shite on anyone who shows optimism" approach.

most every college team loses a lot of experience every year. If a team recruits well, as Texas has (and us too), they'll have very good players to replace what they lost.

Merely losing experience doesn't mean a team is down.
